1. Introduction
Culture is observable from a multifaceted approach in the form beliefs, art, morals, law, and customs. In the Asian continent, the Muslim culture has not been given as much focus as Muslims in the Middle East. The focus of this paper is to provide an outline for a research paper on Asian Muslims, a brief annotated bibliography that presents information on culture and practices, a reflection of what has been learned, and what I expect to learn by the end of the research paper.
2. Body Outline
a) The body of the research paper will detail a literature review that examines what other authors have published on the subject.
b) It will also have methodological procedures that entail data collection using existing documents and records.
c) The research paper will provide findings, conclusions, and discussion sections.
d) It will contain the implications of the culture's practices on parties that directly involve with the culture.
3. Annotated Bibliography
Jegatheesan, B., Miller, P. J., & Fowler, S. A. (2010). Autism from a religious perspective: A study of parental beliefs in South Asian Muslim immigrant families. Focus on Autism and Other Developmental Disabilities.
The authors of this study provide a focus on Asian Muslims who have children who have Autism. They then interview South Asian Muslims with the aim of ascertaining their beliefs on autism. The methods used for the study were the collection of interviews and conversations that were recorded during an excursion that took a period of 17 months. The results indicated that Asian Muslim families understood that taking care of children with autism had to take place in Muslim terms. The families also contested the understanding provided by experts on the ailment. They believed that the approach presented by experts destabilized rather than supported their children's development. The findings provide insinuations of Muslims perceptions on the contemporary and conventional use of empirical results in the treatment of ailments.
Purkayastha, B. (2010). Interrogating intersectionality: Contemporary globalization and racialized gendering in the lives of highly educated South Asian Americans and their children. Journal of Intercultural Studies, 31(1), 29-47.
The author of the study explores the fit of intersectionality framework when seeking to understand transnational lives. The data used in the survey was obtained from the author’s exploration on South Asian migrant families as well as their youngsters to the United States. The study primarily focuses on highly educated migrants who have intent on maintaining useful family ties. The researcher uses the information to ascertain if the intersectionality methodology can provide an explanation of life that span between actual and hypothetical social worlds. The study designed involves the random assignment of individuals to descriptions of a violent accident. Chan and Yanos (2018) state "roughly, 43% of the participants in the experimental condition reported the cause of the incident as related to mental illness, in contrast with only 2% of participants in the control condition." When asked to provide a recount of the article 42% of participants mentioned mental illness while none of the participants of the control group did (Chan & Yanos, 2018).
7. In an unscientific method one can simply ask the question of does mental illness make one violent? Asking a question such as this doesn't entail proper research but a simple yes or no question. Research isn't completed to discover why individuals may have these particular beliefs.
8. Do you think or know of research that discovered why individuals may have these beliefs?

Week 9 Reading Journal
The main theme across all these weekly journals is the lives of Asian
communities, specifically the Chinese American community in the United States. The
articles have highlighted the Chinese culture, food, and cuisines, challenges, and
opportunities for Chinese students in the United States as well as the issues of Chinese
immigrants and how it has affected most families in the Asian communities. It is
interesting to understand from the articles readings that in the recent years, as a result of
the increase in the growth rate of Chinese Americans in the United States, several ethnic
districts popularly known as Chinatowns have recently emerged in cities such as Los
Angeles, Houston, New York as well as San Francisco. Chinese American
businesspeople have also emerged in these towns offering services like Chinese
education programs, classes, and advice to both the middle-class and the immigrants.
This is a clear indication of the involvement of the ethnic economy from the diverse
Chinese American communities.
The journals have also established that a substantial number of members of the
Chinese population in the United States have experienced a great deal of upward
mobility. The authors have approached this aspect of the Chinese community from a
distinct perspective and asses the manner in which such mobility was made possible. The
readings have also made a clear observation that research studies, as well as statistics
conducted, indicate that the whole community of the Chinese population in the US has
been successful at a rapid pace when compared to other ethnic populations. This success
has been attributed to the internal workings as well as the inner dynamics of the Chinese
American community. Further, the journals have also outlined that as a result of
hostilities together with violence the Chinese immigration had been slowed down and the
immigrants had been forced out of the job market. Before the Second World War,
ethnicity tended to determine most social relationships more than class.
More so, the interesting aspect of the journals is that the authors have used class
evaluation to reveal the other side of the Chinese communities’ experiences apart from
the mobility success that has been achieved. The readings have included the challenges
of normal day survival of the Chinese students, laborers as well as entrepreneurs and how
this has affected their position in the social hierarchy. The great amount of immigrant
workers inflow has allowed the expansion of the Chinese economy, in which the business
people can be able to maintain their advantage and compete favorably with the other
ethnic communities in the United States. The Chinese workers do not have the
mainstream into the job market as a result legal regulations. Most Chinese students are

An analysis and a description of traditional research, addressing the question of its cultural relevance.
Traditional research is described as research done by individuals outside a specific organization. This research is aimed at offering some generalized truth on the investigated question. The basis of this research is a hypothesis where various variables are handled by a researcher in order to ascertain a particular research question through manipulation. This research is assessed from two perspectives; qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative research is the analysis of data obtained through interviews, journals and observations, while quantitative involves data that is numeric. Cultural relevance tends to be critical when the human population is involved. In traditional research, quantitative research does not cater to the cultural factors of the population being researched as qualitative research does. Under the group, I am analysis that is Asian Americans. Their data were collected from interviews and observing their way of living. Understanding their culture as social workers will limit bias when handling individuals from different cultures.
An analysis and a description of what comprises culturally relevant research.
Cultural relevance is significant to social workers because it allows them to maneuver through various multicultural situations whereby they must serve clients from different backgrounds and cultures without offence or bias. Cultural relevance involves social workers working on cases to approach each case in a way that is respectful to cultural differences while showing appreciation for diversity. Therefore, research needs to be culturally relevant. This means that the research conducted should take into consideration the social, cultural and linguistic needs of the population in question. By taking into consideration these aspects, the research will gather more information and will take a shorter period.

Conducting Culturally Sensitive Qualitative Research
DEVIKADIBYACHOUDHURI THE MULTICULTURAL GUIDELINES
One of the key elements of the American Psychological Association’s (APA, 2003) “Guidelines on Multicultural Education, Training, Research, Practice, and Organizational Change for Psychologists” is the notion of a cultural lens. The Multicultural Guidelines define culture as an embodiment of worldview, a complex of systems of values, beliefs, and resultant practices that shape the way individuals make meaning of the world. Using a visual metaphor, a cultural lens is then simply the field of vision that incorporates the landscape of culture. The Multicultural Guidelines invite psychologists to use a cultural lens, acknowledging the ways in which culture shapes their own lens, the multiple meanings that individuals may make about themselves and their contexts, and ways to be responsive and sensitive to such understandings of the world. Specifically, in terms of conducting research, Guideline 4 asks investigators to appreciate the importance of conducting culture-centered research and be sensitive to cultural issues regarding research focus, design, and methods. A cultural lens, by definition, is rooted in the subjective, the internal worldview view of a particular person from his or her particular location intheworld.Thissubjectivityofinternallyconstructedmeaning, asopposedtoapresumedexternallyobjectiverealitytrueforallpersonsin alltimesandcontexts, isthesociallyconstructedpositionofqualitative research.
OVERVIEW OF QUALITATIVE RESEARCH
The practice of qualitative inquiry covers a variety of research methods and approaches that operate from an interpretive paradigm, developing portrayals of a complex and dynamic reality (Glesne & Peshkin, 1992). Symbolic interactionism (Blumer, 1969), feminist inquiry (Olesen, 1994), grounded theory (Strauss & Corbin, 1990) action research, case studies, and ethnographies are examples of the plethora of approaches constituting qualitative inquiry (Bogdan & Biklen, 1992). Qualitative research strives to understand the epistemological nature of phenomena through the subjective experiences of the persons who are concerned with such phenomena. Essentially, it is the process of finding out what people think and feel impressionistically and narratively rather than quantifiably. As such, this methodology lends itself particularly well to understanding the experiences and worldviews of diverse persons. For instance, Gibson (2002) looked at the experience of African American grandmothers who were caregivers to grandchildren whose parents were not able to provide them with adequate care. This phenomenon of kinship care, culturally congruent in the African American community, needed a qualitative approach to explore a complex, sensitive, and contextually rich situation and capture the lived experience of this clinically significant group. Qualitative approaches are becoming increasingly popular as a methodology for con.

Discussion1: Confidentiality
One of the most important concepts in clinical practice and group work is confidentiality. All members of the group sign an informed consent form in order to address the rules and parameters of the group sessions. The rules regarding confidentiality are stated in one section of the form. Although every member must sign this agreement, ensuring that all information shared in the group remains confidential can be difficult. As the group leader, the clinical social worker is responsible for developing strategies so that all members feel safe to share.
For this Discussion, review the “Working With Groups: Latino Patients Living With HIV/AIDS” case study.

The support group discussed here was created to address the unique needs of a vulnerable population receiving services at an outpatient interdisciplinary comprehensive care center. The center’s mission was to provide medical and psychosocial services to adult patients living with HIV/AIDS (PLWH). Both patients and providers at the center expressed a need for a group to address the needs of the center’s Latino population. At the time the group was created, 36% of the center’s population identified as Latino, and 25% of this cohort identified Spanish as their primary language. The purpose of the group was twofold: 1) to reduce the social isolation felt by Latino patients at the center and 2) to create a culturally sensitive environment where Latino patients could explore common medical and psychosocial issues faced by PLWH within a cultural context.
Planning for the group consisted of 1) defining a format for the group, 2) recruiting appropriate members, and 3) building an appropriate group composition. When considering t ...

In this study of Kwon he talks about the challenges that influx Asians international undergraduate students in universities in the United States. Creating greater education and better social environments. He gets to talking about how Asians American student leaders and their organizations became difficult institutional task on diversity.
This article pertains to be a good source for my paper because it talks about a particular race that have trouble with being able to fit in with the university. Talks about segregation and racial discrimnation in the community. It could be a useful source for my paper. It’s useful because my topic is about racial discrimination and this source fits perfect.

In this study of Walker-DeVose talks about race that’s critical such as how African Americans and White students at a PWI are diverse. He also talks about how Blacks interact with each other. Midterm Assignment
For our midterm this semester we are going to compose a well- developed essay examining the role of human rights and human responsibilities in one of the eastern religions. The “Eastern Religions” are those of Asia, or the orient, also known as the eastern world.
These are covered in your book in chapters 6, 7, and 8. They are:
· Hinduism
· Buddhism
· Daoism
· Confucianism
· Shinto
For this project you want to develop two basic concepts. These are human rights and human responsibilities. Rights are privileges which belong to every human being simply by virtue of their being a person. Human rights have to do with our deeper understanding of what it means to be human. The way we understand the definition of “a person” shapes the ways we treat one another. The problem is that in various ways we treat people differently depending on which sort of people we are talking about. Across human cultures, we afford more rights to one sort of people and fewer rights to other sorts of people. This makes the whole discussion about human rights very complex and intertwined with our cultural perspective.
Responsibilities are obligations that also come with our being human. In each culture, people are expected to comply with certain expectations. One way to understand any religion is by looking at these rights and responsibilities. Viewed in this way, any religion tells its followers two basic things: “This is who you are.” And “This is what you are expected to do.” As a preacher, I don’t know how many sermons I have given where one of these two themes have been touched upon. “This is who we are, and this is what we are expected to do.”
On the surface this seems very simple, but it rapidly gets all wrapped up in the privileges and expectations that come with each culture. To look into this, we can look at the rights of women in the culture surrounding any given religion. We might also look at the rights of minorities, or people who are at the fringes of the culture. People at the fringes of cultural acceptance are known as “marginalized populations.” Here we are looking at the lives of people who are not accepted by the predominant culture. We can also look at attitudes toward “outsiders”, or people who belong to other cultures or other religions.
So, your assignment is as follows;
Please compose a well-developed essay examining human rights and human responsibilities in one of the eastern religions covered in chapters 6, 7, or 8. Your essay should be at least 3 pages long but not more than 5 pages long. (double spaced) Remember to include a clear works cited page. DO NOT try to copy your response off the internet. Please email me if you have any questions.

Culture is one of the organizing concepts upon which nursing is base.docxdorishigh
Culture is one of the organizing concepts upon which nursing is based and defined. As healthcare providers, nurses must implement their knowledge of cultural, ethnic, and social diversity to develop a culturally sensitive nursing practice. This enables nurses to be more effective in initiating nursing assessments and serving as a patient advocate.
Background:
Leininger (2014) defines culture as a set of values, beliefs, and traditions that are led by a specific group of people and handed down from generation to generation. Culture is learned, shared, values transmitted, a way of life, and practices of a particular group that guides day-to-day thinking, decisions, and actions.
Technological advances have transformed our social world into what Marshall McLuhan termed a global village. In other words, we need to think of the entire world when we talk about our social environment. Computers, satellites, and communication technology have brought the world closer together and made cross-cultural encounters an everyday occurrence.
Cultural competence is the ability to provide holistically effective care to patients who come from different cultures. In nursing, there is a requirement to be sensitive to communication, both verbally and non-verbally. It is an evolving process that depends on self-awareness, knowledge, attitude, and development and application of skills. Nurses should never make assumptions about their patient’s beliefs; for example, stating that all Jehovah’s Witnesses will refuse blood transfusions is a generalization.
Being culturally insensitive can lead to stereotyping, discrimination, racism, and prejudice. Some cultures do not call elders by their first names. Nurses should always ask how the patient wants to be addressed. Some cultures would not allow a male nurse to examine a female patient so the team should be aware of this cultural issue. People may have different beliefs about medical care and treatment in the United States, and the nurse needs to offer respect and gain knowledge of the patient’s situation.
In the healthcare systems of today, healthcare providers are diverse. Nurses have much to offer from their own culture. Culture is universal and dynamic. It is taught to other members of the health care team as a matter of sharing. Distinctions between culture, ethnicity, race, and religion may be confusing. Think of it this way, you are a member of the subculture of the student, you are also a member of an ethnic group, (e.g. Portuguese-American from the Azores), a racial group (white, African American), and a religion (Roman Catholic, Jewish), each with its own set of beliefs and values. So, your culture is a blend of all of those characteristics (Treas & Wilkinson, 2014).

·
Post
strategies you might prefer to use to ensure confidentiality in a treatment group for individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
·
Describe how informed consent addresses confidentiality in a group setting.
·
How does confidentiality in a group differ from confidentiality in individual counseling?
·
Also, discuss how you would address a breach of confidentiality in the group.

In general, reliabilities less than 0.60 are considered to be poor, those in the 0.70 range, acceptable, and those over 0.80 good. Thus, the internal consistency reliability of the measures used in this study can be considered to be acceptable for the job enrichment measure and good for the other measures.
It is important to note that all the negatively worded items in the questionnaire should first be reversed before the items are submitted for reliability tests. Unless all the items measuring a variable are in the same direction, the reliabilities obtained will be incorrect.
A sample of the result obtained for the Cronbach’s alpha test for job enrichment, together with instructions on how it is obtained, is shown in Output 11.3.
The reliability of the job enrichment measure is presented in the first table in Output 11.3. The second table provides an overview of the alphas if we take one of the items out of the measure. For instance, it is shown that if the first item (Jobchar1) is taken out, Cronbach’s alpha of the new three-item measure will be 0.577. This means that the alpha will go down if we take item 1 out of our measure. On the other hand, if we take out item 3, our alpha will go up and become 0.851. Note that, in this case, we would not take out item 3 for two reasons. First, our alpha is above 0.7 so we do not have to take any remedial actions. Second, if we took item 3 out, the validity of our measure would probably decrease. We did not include item 3 for nothing in the original measure!
If, however, our Cronbach’s alpha was too low (under 0.60) then we could use this table to find out which of the items would have to be removed from our measure to increase the interitem consistency. Note that, usually, taking out an item, although improving the reliability of our measure, affects the validity of our measure .

Formal Essay #3: Reporting Information/The Expository Essay
Expository writing is a staple of academic writing. Throughout your academic and professional career, you will be called on to write hundreds of expository articles, reports and essays. A thorough knowledge of this writing form will hold you in good stead all through your career.
What is Expository Writing?
‘Expository’ is a synonym of ‘explanatory’. An expository essay is a piece of writing that explains or informs. It should be based on fact and free of the writer’s prejudices. Opinion is often expressed, but only if it is backed by fact. For example, if someone asked you to write an essay on the causes of World War II, you would write about Germany’s losses in World War I, the Treaty of Versailles, the fall of the Weimar Republic, and the rise of Hitler led Nazism. In other words, everything would be based on verifiable fact.
The expository writing process centers on four activities:
Generate a rough idea or hypothesis.
Find evidence to back up this idea.
Expound on the idea.
Present an argument to back up the idea.
Thus, if you were to say that the Treaty of Versailles was the chief cause of World War II, you would first talk about the conditions of the Treaty of Versailles, the financial condition of Germany after WWI, the ineffectiveness of the Weimar Republic, and how they all led to the rise of Nazism.
Structurally, a piece of expository writing has the following components:
An
introduction
that introduces the central idea you will discuss in the essay.
The
main body
that presents evidence to back up the idea. This is the meat of the essay.
A
conclusion
that presents your idea again in the light of the evidence.
Thus, the central thrust of expository writing should be to build towards proving an argument, fact by fact, piece of evidence by piece of evidence. You will use expository writing a lot throughout your academic life. Most essays that you write in college will be expository in nature. Most writing that you will do in your professional life will involve a lot of expository content as well. In other words, sharpening up this skill will serve you well throughout your life.

There was a great debate about discrimination on the basis of color, race, gender or religion. Over the years, some programs have been developed in order to handle or to try and e.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

Research Paper Outline: The Asian Muslim Culture
Name
University
1. Introduction
Culture is observable from a multifaceted approach in the form
beliefs, art, morals, law, and customs. In the Asian continent,
the Muslim culture has not been given as much focus as
Muslims in the Middle East. The focus of this paper is to
provide an outline for a research paper on Asian Muslims, a
brief annotated bibliography that presents information on
culture and practices, a reflection of what has been learned, and
what I expect to learn by the end of the research paper.
2. Body Outline
2. a) The body of the research paper will detail a literature review
that examines what other authors have published on the subject.
b) It will also have methodological procedures that entail data
collection using existing documents and records.
c) The research paper will provide findings, conclusions, and
discussion sections.
d) It will contain the implications of the culture's practices on
parties that directly involve with the culture.
3. Annotated Bibliography
Jegatheesan, B., Miller, P. J., & Fowler, S. A. (2010). Autism
from a religious perspective: A study of parental beliefs in
South Asian Muslim immigrant families. Focus on Autism and
Other Developmental Disabilities.
The authors of this study provide a focus on Asian Muslims who
have children who have Autism. They then interview South
Asian Muslims with the aim of ascertaining their beliefs on
autism. The methods used for the study were the collection of
interviews and conversations that were recorded during an
excursion that took a period of 17 months. The results indicated
that Asian Muslim families understood that taking care of
children with autism had to take place in Muslim terms. The
families also contested the understanding provided by experts
on the ailment. They believed that the approach presented by
experts destabilized rather than supported their children's
development. The findings provide insinuations of Muslims
perceptions on the contemporary and conventional use of
empirical results in the treatment of ailments.
Purkayastha, B. (2010). Interrogating intersectionality:
Contemporary globalization and racialized gendering in the
lives of highly educated South Asian Americans and their
children. Journal of Intercultural Studies, 31(1), 29-47.
The author of the study explores the fit of intersectionality
framework when seeking to understand transnational lives. The
data used in the survey was obtained from the author’s
exploration on South Asian migrant families as well as their
youngsters to the United States. The study primarily focuses on
3. highly educated migrants who have intent on maintaining useful
family ties. The researcher uses the information to ascertain if
the intersectionality methodology can provide an explanation of
life that span between actual and hypothetical social worlds.
The research concludes by stating that the intersectionality
method has to be deepened to as to attain experiences that are
simultaneous and demonstrate privilege and marginalization
across national and transnational contexts.
Rana, J. (2011). Terrifying Muslims: Race and Labor in the
South Asian diaspora. Duke University Press.
The author of the book notes that studies on South Asian
Muslims is often considered using particular flows and is
subjective. The author notes that previous literature examines
patterns and processes that describe the movement of people,
identities everyday life. The world Muslim is correlated with
multiple negative connotations within the global discourse. For
instance, they are often termed as sexualized and racialized.
Other terms that are sometimes representative of the culture
include terrorism, fundamentalism, the clash of civilization,
oppression of women, radicalism, barbarism, homophobic and
violent masculinists. When discussing labor in the diaspora, the
author notes that the political economy of oil and the dominance
of the dollar has shaped migration among Asia Muslims. The
Muslim inhabitants of the region Europe and North America are
preferred destinations for obtaining an income. There is no
adequate protection of organized labor, and the structures are
weak and dependent on foreign countries.

Muslim-men.html
The author of the article illustrates the cultural problems that
have allowed Asian Muslim men to perceive women as
commodities and make them susceptible to abuse. The author
4. states that there is a misplaced sense of political correctness,
which plays a significant part in preventing social workers as
well as law enforcement personnel from adequately
investigating abuse and harassment claims. The result of the
occurrence left many girls exposed to abusive gangs since there
were limited ways of protecting them. The author also brings
about the fact that law enforcement officials fear to investigate
the cases in great depth due to the possibilities of them being
labeled as racists and racial profiling especially in foreign
countries. The author concludes by stating that the values and
attitudes towards women are very unacceptable and hinder the
freedoms of women.
4. Description of What is Learned and What I Expect to Learn
From the information provided, I have learned that the Asian
Muslim culture is predominantly composed of conservative
values that possibly harm other members that subscribe to the
culture. For instance, from the descriptions of both Dominiczak
(2015) and Rana (2011),
We learn that women are the primary victims of barbarism.
They are always on the receiving end. From the findings
provided by Jegatheesan, Miller, and Fowler (2010), I have also
learned that some of their customs and beliefs are detrimental to
their welfare. The occurrence can be manifested in the way they
dispute empirical findings that provide recommendations for
caring for children who are suffering from autism. As I finish
my mini research paper, I expect to learn of positives that come
from the subscription of the culture. I also want to learn the
perceptions and perspectives of the enforcers of such as culture
and what women think about the oppressions they are subjected.

Facts
According to ACA (2017), The Affordable Care Act constitutes
of three facts:
Make affordable health insurance accessible: The law allows
premium tax credits that allows for households that earn a low
income afford health insurance. Households that have an income
between 100% and 400% level of the Federal poverty level are
subject to premium tax credits. Federal poverty level is
different for every state and is determined annually.
The Medicaid expanded to accommodate for adults earning less
than 138% of the federal poverty level. Notably, not all states
do this.
Innovative medical care delivery methods adopted to make
healthcare affordable.
52. Applying the perspectives
An interactionist theorist would study the effects of ACA on the
different social classes. The social institution of healthcare is
divided as the quality of healthcare is determined by the amount
deducted from an individual. The effect of the ACA reform is
studied to determine the change of view in the self-worth of
individuals and its difference in the different social
stratifications. The rich may not have a problem altering their
payments to suit the quality of healthcare they seek but the poor
will do.
A conflict theorist would perceive ACA as a point of
conflict between the rich and the poor. The rich seem to have
power and control over the health care unlike the poor. Instead
of the government making health insurance mandatory therefore
adding burden to individuals that do not afford, they could make
reforms on the government-funded programs available to assist
those unable to afford healthcare.
A functionalist perspective would imply that making health
insurance mandatory is unnecessary, as the individuals initially
did not have to pay (Lawler, 2014).
Notably, a functionalist theorist would contend that we
require all individuals from society to be as sound as
conceivable with the end goal for them to add to society through
their typical parts. Despite what might be expected, a conflict
theorist would contend that, in giving everybody healthcare
services, we are empowering an inescapable battle over rare
assets. At last, one side is contending that widespread
healthcare services is required for a working society, while
alternate rejoinders that it is not an essential need for each
individual, and that we have to consider how we can best use
our assets. It is clashes like these that make ACA such a
disputable subject, and that have along these lines postponed
any sort of advance.
Personal Belief
ACA is not affordable to all households. It should not be
mandatory. However, it should not deem as a failure as more
53. time should be given to assess that.
Sociological imagination
I developed my personal belief on Affordable Care Act
majorly based on class. The presence of different social classes
excludes those of lower social classes from affordable health
care. In addition, race; as a big percentage of those in lower
social classes are African-American (Lawler, 2014).
Research process
According to Lawler (2014), the research process to study the
belief of individuals on the Affordable Care Act would USE the
scientific method. The first step is to define the problem where
the impact of ACA on individuals is studied.
The second stage would be to determine more facts on the topic
through research of existing resources. Existing resources
would help avoid problems already encountered in previous
research. A hypothesis can then be formed after studying
existing resources. A study can then be designed to determine if
the individuals had another form of insurance and the two put in
comparison. A conclusion after data is analyzed is reached and
a report is made.
