RubyMotion allows developers to build OS X and iOS applications using the Ruby programming language. It was created by Laurent Sansonetti after initially working on MacRuby inside Apple. RubyMotion uses a static compiler to generate optimized machine code from Ruby code and allows Ruby developers to access Apple's Cocoa APIs. It provides a similar programming model to Objective-C development but uses Ruby syntax. RubyMotion applications can be distributed to the App Store.
