RS-10 CCTV system
To monitor the real time status of conditions
inside metro trains there is facility of CCTV
in RS10 stock of DMRC. Following are the
details of CCTV system:

• Following is the availability status of CCTV
components in RS10 Trains:

1. Saloon Camera: There are four saloon cameras
installed in each DM, T and M cars to monitor the
passenger saloon and one saloon camera is installed in
each DM car to monitor the detrainment process.
A) Camera has a local storage media, 16GB Security
Digital (SD) memory card and in-built digital zoom
functions.
B) The saloon camera‘s axis of lens faces the PAD and
door area.
Description of RS10 CCTV components:
2. Forward Facing Camera: There are two kinds of Forward Facing (FF)
camera installed in each DM car. One FF camera is installed behind
non-driving side (right side) at the same height as Train Number
Indicator (TNI) to mostly cover catenary wire condition and the
other FF camera is installed on outside of cab mask (below non-
driving side windshield) to view mainly the track .
 The FF camera for monitoring rail track with wide type lens is
used. The camera is powered via Ethernet cable by using the PoE
technology.

3. Side Exterior Camera: Two side exterior cameras are installed on the
DM and M car each side. There are total 8 side exterior cameras in a
train set. The cameras on DM car face the rear side and the ones on
M car face the front side. The side exterior cameras on the M car
are installed on rear end of the car.
 Side camera image is recorded and displayed on TCMS VDU
when the train stops while the door is opening.

4. Detrainment Camera: A camera (saloon camera type) is installed on
the ceiling of the driver’s cab area. The camera normally faces the cab
detrainment door. During other occasions than evacuation process, the
camera covers the front area to get a closer view.
 When the cab detrainment door is activated, the camera is capable
of catching a passenger who is manipulating the detrainment door
and emergency ramp. In addition, the camera can see the near-field
view of cab front. The detrainment camera has storage function and
data is stored in the camera by SD card.
5. Ethernet PoE switch (Managed): Managed
PoE switch provides Ethernet backbone link and
also provides camera with DC power supply.
This switch consists of 8 PoE ports and 8 non-
PoE ports and is installed in every car.

6. Ethernet PoE switch (Unmanaged): The unmanaged PoE Switch has
8 of 10/100 base T ports. The unmanaged PoE Switch is used for
one saloon camera (for detrainment door), two provisions for cab
cameras, signal transmission, data of the Automatic Voice
Announcement Unit (AVAU) and the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD)
controller is transmitted thru the unmanaged Ethernet switch
during the software and data upload.
 Unlike managed switch, it just provides fixed configuration and
allows simply Ethernet equipment to communicate with each other
like ‘plug and play’. This unmanaged switch is only required in DM
car.

7.L3 switch: is used for network-to-network communication with other network
device. There are four networks which communicate with each other:
• TCMS Network Series 1: VLAN ID #1(VID#1)
• TCMS Network Series 2: VLAN ID #2(VID#2)
• CCTV Network: VLAN ID #3(VID#3)
• On-board CBTC Network
• These networks share only designated packets of information with each other but not all
packets. The network can be separated in 4 networks as different interface with VLAN ID
(VID), it means each network client and host on the same subnet can communicate in
their own VLAN but basically limited to communicate with other VLANs.
• Router is used to interface and control data packet exchange between these networks.
Communication between different subnet can be achieved through routing function.

8. Network Video Recorder (NVR): can record
same image (Same resolution, Frame rate and
band width) of OCC setting because that the
NVR will access same stream with OCC.

9. Network Attached Storage (NAS): The
Network Attached Storage is equipped 2TB
SSD.
The NAS records the camera image via NVR.
The NAS provides only recording function of
camera image received from NVR.
