Iterative development & rational unified processpoonam bora
Iterative development involves breaking down software development into smaller chunks called increments or iterations. With each iteration, additional features are designed, developed, and tested until a fully functional application is ready. Incremental development builds functionality in thin layers, with each increment building on previous work. An example of iterative development is a team building an e-commerce site, starting with basic checkout functionality and payment by debit card, then refining and adding additional payment methods in subsequent iterations until the functionality is satisfactory.

The Rise and Benefits of Robotic Process Automation - Thomas HaverQA or the Highway
There is great opportunity in leveraging RPA to embed bots into business processes, but adopting RPA on an enterprise scale requires careful strategic and steady planning.
RPA allows developers to programmatically emulate human actions to execute repetitive business processes. Key benefits include fast ROI, minimal upfront costs, and reduced errors. Common RPA use cases include data entry, invoice processing, and account creation. Choosing the right RPA tool requires considering technical skills, pricing models, and vendor support. Successful RPA programs establish clear goals, track standard metrics like time savings and accuracy, and maintain consistent development pace.
Test Automation Vs. RPA Top 7 Differences That Set Them Apart.pptxCalidad Infotech
RPA and test automation are different concepts for automating processes. RPA is used by business users to automate repetitive business tasks for improved productivity, while test automation is carried out by developers and QA teams to test software functionality before release. Key differences include their areas of focus (RPA is backend-focused while test automation validates front-end functionality), required technical skills (test automation requires programming skills while RPA is designed for non-technical users), and when they are used in the development lifecycle (test automation is used pre-release while RPA is post-release). Both can improve efficiency but have distinct purposes and specializations.

When it is all about ERP solutions, companies typically meet their needs with common ERP solutions like SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft Dynamics. These big players have demonstrated that ERP systems can be either simple or highly comprehensive. This remains true today, but there are new factors to consider, including a promising new contender in the market that’s Odoo. This blog compares Odoo ERP with traditional ERP systems and explains why many companies now see Odoo ERP as the best choice.
What are ERP Systems?
An ERP, or Enterprise Resource Planning, system provides your company with valuable information to help you make better decisions and boost your ROI. You should choose an ERP system based on your company’s specific needs. For instance, if you run a manufacturing or retail business, you will need an ERP system that efficiently manages inventory. A consulting firm, on the other hand, would benefit from an ERP system that enhances daily operations. Similarly, eCommerce stores would select an ERP system tailored to their needs.
Because different businesses have different requirements, ERP system functionalities can vary. Among the various ERP systems available, Odoo ERP is considered one of the best in the ERp market with more than 12 million global users today.
Odoo is an open-source ERP system initially designed for small to medium-sized businesses but now suitable for a wide range of companies. Odoo offers a scalable and configurable point-of-sale management solution and allows you to create customised modules for specific industries. Odoo is gaining more popularity because it is built in a way that allows easy customisation, has a user-friendly interface, and is affordable. Here, you will cover the main differences and get to know why Odoo is gaining attention despite the many other ERP systems available in the market.

Measures in SQL (SIGMOD 2024, Santiago, Chile)Julian Hyde
SQL has attained widespread adoption, but Business Intelligence tools still use their own higher level languages based upon a multidimensional paradigm. Composable calculations are what is missing from SQL, and we propose a new kind of column, called a measure, that attaches a calculation to a table. Like regular tables, tables with measures are composable and closed when used in queries.
SQL-with-measures has the power, conciseness and reusability of multidimensional languages but retains SQL semantics. Measure invocations can be expanded in place to simple, clear SQL.
To define the evaluation semantics for measures, we introduce context-sensitive expressions (a way to evaluate multidimensional expressions that is consistent with existing SQL semantics), a concept called evaluation context, and several operations for setting and modifying the evaluation context.

2. •It is one of the main characteristics of a software.
•It should be simple to understand by your employees as RPA solution is for accelerating the internal
processes of your business.
•Some enhanced features may seem attractive but take into consideration the increase of cost in gaining
learning support from vendor.
•Choose an RPA platform that provides you with an automation tool that will result in more efficient
administration outputs and easy to use for the employees.
1. Ease of Use
3. • RPA solution should provide a clear, user-friendly and workable interface that has easy functionality
and provides a visual interface that allows users to easily perform activities without any major learning
process.
• Programmers can also easily access such bots so that you are not limited by the time and availability
of your in-house developers or external IT development resources. This serves to reduce your
operational costs.
2. Interface Design
4. • Vendors usually promise to provide RPA with the ability to effectively adapt to the operational
demands of a business. However, many not be equipped enough.
• This is where scalability comes into the picture.
• You should not be limited by a tool that does not allow you to scale up/down your operations.
• Any good RPA solution should allow you to choose a software bot that is perfectly adaptable and
execute to your assessments.
• Any bot which can work on-demand, with multiple executions and can be adjusted to your operating
systems, browsers or devices can scale up your production in a healthy way.
3. Scalability
5. • When you select automation you are expecting hundreds of bots to work in your favor, giving
results you expected. You don't want to be saddled with software bots that are unreliable and create
undue disruptions
• Choose an RPA solution that has in-built applications and specific features designed to monitor
deficiencies and at the same time accelerate the internal capabilities in the system.
4. Reliability
6. • Find a tool for yourself that can diversify its operations according to requirements.
• Most tools specialize in certain areas of operation only. You need to consider the possibility of
adding features to the existing tool when needed.
• Each tool has different strengths and weaknesses, so check the potential usage of the tool before
selecting it.
5. Technological Integrations
7. • There are chances that you may not get software that will fulfill all your automation requirements, you
need to work with the vendor in designing a tool that fits your requirements.
• Work building flexibility in the tool by creating the requisite customizations. Preferably opt for solutions
that support many operating systems rather than a single one.
• This will help you in reducing the cost for additional customizations at a later stage.
• Without flexibility, no RPA solution will be able to withstand the test of time.
6. Flexibility
8. • Vendor’s ability to support your needs in times of distress should be a priority.
• You can minimize delays in deployment and strengthen maintenance procedures with strong support.
• Ideally, the product should come with a broad choice of training options, including computer-based
training (e.g. webinars), classroom and online documentation (e.g. tutorials).
• While some vendors do provide dedicated support teams and contractual support SLA’s, most provide
only the standard tool-related support.
• You may have to build a fully trained team for the tool to help with your RPA implementation.
• In such cases, it proves helpful to have a training cost estimate form the vendor.
