INTRODUCTION
Rowan Atkinson the
English actor, comedian
and screenwriter. Who is
familiar with the name of
Mr. Bean for his famous
role as Mr. Bean in the TV
series 1977.
He has been listed in The
Observer as one of the 50
funniest actors in British
comedy and amongst the
top 50 comedians ever.
EARLYLIFEAND EDUCATION
Rowan Atkinson was born on January 6, 1955 in Newcastle,
England. Atkinson is the youngest of four brothers. His parents
were Eric Atkinson and Ella May. His father was a farmer
and company director.
Mr. Bean became a famous bumbling comedian, but not many
people knew of his high education. He attended Queen's College
and earned his masters degree in electrical engineering from
Oxford University.
CAREER
In the beginning of his career
Rowan Atkinson participated in a
series of comedy shows for BBC
radio called “The Atkinson
People” in 1979. That's when
people began to notice his
comedic talent. In 1979, he starred
in a television comedy.
He is most famous for his roles in
classic sitcoms, including
Blackadder and Mr. Bean.

O'clock News” and “Blackadder”. His most famous
television series is “Mr. Bean”.
And his other TV series are The Story of Bean, Lying to

Rowan Atkinson married Sunetra
Sastry in February 1990. They
have two children, Ben and Lily.
The couple first met in the late
1980s, when she was working as
a makeup artist with the BBC.
They separated in 2014 and were
divorced on 10 November 2015.
Atkinson has been in a
relationship with Louise Ford
since 2014.
Rowan Atkinson is strongly
involved with politics. Atkinson
led a coalition of the United
Kingdom's most prominent
actors and writers.
SUCCESS and REWARDS
Rowan Atkinson was very much successful in his entire career. He
was honored with the title of ‘Commander of the Order of the British
Empire’, in 2013.
He was in the 1988 Oscar-winning short film The Appointments of
Dennis Jennings. In 1979 won an award for the television series: “Not
thenine o`clock”.
When London hosted the Summer Olympics in 2012, Mr. Bean was on
hand for the opening ceremony, where he ushered in the games with a
rendition of “Chariots of Fire.”
RETIREMENT OF BEAN
In November 2012, it
emerged that Rowan
Atkinson intended to
retire Mr. Bean. Bean
will not be performed
again. His last film was
Johnny English.
In January 2014,
however, ITV
announced a new
animated series
featuring Mr. Bean with
Rowan Atkinson
returning to the role.
CONCLUSION
Comedy has the ability to provide a better objective view of
life and also to reduce any depression that a person is facing.
Comedy is everything that humanity can bank upon in these
times of global violence. And that’s why Rowan Atkinson(Mr.
