Michael Jackson was born in 1958 in Indiana and began his career at age five as the lead singer of The Jackson 5. Some of his biggest solo hits from the 1970s and 80s include "Billie Jean", "Beat It", and "Thriller". Jackson transformed pop music with his innovative dance moves and styles. He received numerous awards and recognition as the "King of Pop" before his death in 2009 from a drug overdose.
