The key to teaching is keeping kids
involved. The signs are all around us. The
kids texting on their cellphones, they can
navigate a Tablet touch better that we can,
they can already have an Internet
following on thier blog onYoutube channel
and even posting whatever they want in
Facebook.This new 21st century learners
are highly relational and deman quick
access to new knowledge.
In order to educate in the 21st century,
teachers and administrators need to
cultivate and maintain the student's
interest in the material by showing how
this knowledge applies in the real world.
They must also try to increase their
student's curiosity, which will help them
become lifelong learners. Next they
should be flexible with how they teach
and give learners the resources to
continue learning outside of school.
More than that, They are capable of
engaging in learning at a whole new
level. With the world literally on their
fingertips, today's students need
teachers and administrators to re-
envision the role and functions of
educational technology in the
classroom.
1. Instruction should be
student- centered
Technology is a tool, a way for fact-based
learning and allows students to do a lot of
the research using the internet and various
tools. And at the same time these students
are learning very valuable research skills
which they can transplant at high levels of
education, at universities and beyond.
Technology can be used to enhance
critical thinking and critical literacy skills,
evaluating the legitimacy and accuracy of
online content is the central part of 21st
century education.
It's important for young people to
understand the morals and ethics of
using this online content as you would
have seen in the news there are many
instances of bullying online and I
believe the key reason for this is the
anonymity of the internet. So therefore I
think that schools should teach about
responsibility and accountability in the
use of technology in the classroom and
beyond.
2. Education should be
Collaborative
In small groups, students can share
strengths and also develop their weaker
skills. They develop their interpersonal
skills. They learn to deal with conflict.
When cooperative groups are guided by
clear objectives, students engage in
numerous activities that improve their
understanding of subjects explored.
In order to create an environment in which
cooperative learning can take place,
three things are necessary. First,
students need to feel safe, but also
challenged. Second, groups need to be
small enough that everyone can
contribute. Third, the task students work
together on must be clearly defined. The
cooperative and collaborative learning
techniques presented here should help
make this possible for teachers.
3. Learning should have Context
One of the main goals of learning should have
contexris to develop an authentic task to assess
performance. Creating an assessment in a
context can help to guide the teacher to
replicate a real world experiences and make
necessary inclusive design decisions. It can be
used as a form of formative assessment and
can help give educators a stronger profile on
how the intended learning goals, standards and
benchmarks fit the curriculum. It is essential to
establish and align the intended learning goals
of the contextual task at the beginning to create
a shared understanding of what success looks
like. Self-directed theory states that humans by
nature seek purpose and the desire to make a
contribution and to be part of a cause greater
and more enduring then oneself. It can help
bring relevance and meaning to the learning,
helping students relate to the world they live in.
Important Functions of
Educational Technology
Educational Technology is a fast growing
science committed to converting raw-hand
teachers into really effective andefficient ones
by equipping them with practical teaching skills
and qualities of creative teaching. Teaching
technology has,in recent years, undergone
revolution in respect of new methods employed
in teaching at different levels. New methodshas
greatly enhanced the value of Teacher
Education and has made teaching interesting,
effective and purposeful.
More often than not, we reflect on our teaching
in isolation, without realizing that our own
students can be a great source of feedback on
the teaching and learning that takes place in
our classrooms on a day-to-day basis. While
end of semester evaluations tend to summarize
the students’ overall responses to the class,
this type of input comes too late to be of use to
you and your students during the current
semester. There are several techniques you
can use to solicit ongoing feedback from your
students on the class in general or the learning
that takes place around specific topics and
activities.
There is a practical need for bridging the
gap between traditional and modern
approaches of teaching and
learning,because these days teaching
strategies are touching new heights on
account of modernisation as a result of
interdisciplinary contributions, which
need to be understood by future
teachers and teachers alike. The work in
hand is asincere effort in this direction.

  • 2. The key to teaching is keeping kids involved. The signs are all around us. The kids texting on their cellphones, they can navigate a Tablet touch better that we can, they can already have an Internet following on thier blog onYoutube channel and even posting whatever they want in Facebook.This new 21st century learners are highly relational and deman quick access to new knowledge.
  • 3. In order to educate in the 21st century, teachers and administrators need to cultivate and maintain the student's interest in the material by showing how this knowledge applies in the real world. They must also try to increase their student's curiosity, which will help them become lifelong learners. Next they should be flexible with how they teach and give learners the resources to continue learning outside of school.
  • 4. More than that, They are capable of engaging in learning at a whole new level. With the world literally on their fingertips, today's students need teachers and administrators to re- envision the role and functions of educational technology in the classroom.
  • 5. 1. Instruction should be student- centered
  • 6. Technology is a tool, a way for fact-based learning and allows students to do a lot of the research using the internet and various tools. And at the same time these students are learning very valuable research skills which they can transplant at high levels of education, at universities and beyond. Technology can be used to enhance critical thinking and critical literacy skills, evaluating the legitimacy and accuracy of online content is the central part of 21st century education.

It's important for young people to understand the morals and ethics of using this online content as you would have seen in the news there are many instances of bullying online and I believe the key reason for this is the anonymity of the internet. So therefore I think that schools should teach about responsibility and accountability in the use of technology in the classroom and beyond.
  • 8. 2. Education should be Collaborative
  • 9. In small groups, students can share strengths and also develop their weaker skills. They develop their interpersonal skills. They learn to deal with conflict. When cooperative groups are guided by clear objectives, students engage in numerous activities that improve their understanding of subjects explored.
  • 10. In order to create an environment in which cooperative learning can take place, three things are necessary. First, students need to feel safe, but also challenged. Second, groups need to be small enough that everyone can contribute. Third, the task students work together on must be clearly defined. The cooperative and collaborative learning techniques presented here should help make this possible for teachers.
  • 11. 3. Learning should have Context
  • 12. One of the main goals of learning should have contexris to develop an authentic task to assess performance. Creating an assessment in a context can help to guide the teacher to replicate a real world experiences and make necessary inclusive design decisions. It can be used as a form of formative assessment and can help give educators a stronger profile on how the intended learning goals, standards and benchmarks fit the curriculum. It is essential to establish and align the intended learning goals of the contextual task at the beginning to create a shared understanding of what success looks like. Self-directed theory states that humans by nature seek purpose and the desire to make a contribution and to be part of a cause greater and more enduring then oneself. It can help bring relevance and meaning to the learning, helping students relate to the world they live in.

Educational Technology is a fast growing science committed to converting raw-hand teachers into really effective andefficient ones by equipping them with practical teaching skills and qualities of creative teaching. Teaching technology has,in recent years, undergone revolution in respect of new methods employed in teaching at different levels. New methodshas greatly enhanced the value of Teacher Education and has made teaching interesting, effective and purposeful.
  • 15. More often than not, we reflect on our teaching in isolation, without realizing that our own students can be a great source of feedback on the teaching and learning that takes place in our classrooms on a day-to-day basis. While end of semester evaluations tend to summarize the students’ overall responses to the class, this type of input comes too late to be of use to you and your students during the current semester. There are several techniques you can use to solicit ongoing feedback from your students on the class in general or the learning that takes place around specific topics and activities.
  • 16. There is a practical need for bridging the gap between traditional and modern approaches of teaching and learning,because these days teaching strategies are touching new heights on account of modernisation as a result of interdisciplinary contributions, which need to be understood by future teachers and teachers alike. The work in hand is asincere effort in this direction.
