INTRODUCTION
• PHANINDER SAMA
•Born on August 15, 1980,
• Phanindra was born in a small village of
Tadapaikal in the Nizamabad district of
Telangana in 1980.
• He lost his dad at an age when he could not
understand why things were happening. This
major incident in Phanindra’s life shook up his
childhood.

EDUCATION
• For his10th and +2 years, Phanindra relocated to his Uncle's
residence in Hyderabad.
• He was an exceptional student in his academics. He received
an average of 80% in SSC and 97 percent in Intermediate.
• Phanindra was a very bright student from the very beginning.
• After his schooling, he got admission to the Birla Institute of
Technology and Science where he studied Electrical and
Electronics Engineering and became an engineer.

Leardership at BITSPilani
• In BITS, he had to deal with a lot of problems. He exhibited leadership
characteristics, and as a result, he was named team leader of the photography
club at BITS University.
• Later, he attended the Indian Institute of Science and became proficient in
computer networks. He studied Responsible Leadership and Sustainable Business
Practices at the Swedish Institute, and Economics and Psychology at Stanford
University, and received the Chevening Fellowship from King’s College London.

CARRER BEGINNINGS
• PhanindraSama didn't set out to become an
entrepreneur
• His journey began as a design engineer.
• He started his professional career at ST
Microelectronics and later moved to Texas Instruments
as a Senior Design Engineer.
• During his tenure in these roles, he gained valuable
technical experience and industry insights.
• However, the pivotal moment came when he missed
his bus, prompting him to think about how technology
could solve everyday problems, leading him down the
entrepreneurial path.

THE BIRTH OFA REDBUS
• In the mid-2000s, Phanindra Sama was a frequent bus traveler, often
commuting to visit his family.
• On one occasion, he missed his bus due to the lack of an efficient
booking system, which sparked the idea for RedBus.
• Recognizing the inconvenience faced by many travelers like himself, he
envisioned a platform that would simplify the process of booking bus
tickets and ensure a seamless travel
• The frustration of missing a bus turned into an entrepreneurial
opportunity for Sama. Identifying a gap in the market, he conceptualized
an online platform where users could conveniently book bus tickets.
• He began to develop his idea while still employed at Texas Instruments.
• His vision was to create India's largest and most user-friendly bus
ticketing platform. With this goal, he co-founded RedBus.

get RedBus off the ground.

• Position:Chief Innovation Officer, Government of Telangana
• Focus area: Fostering innovation and driving growth within the Telangana
government
• Other involvement: He is also on the board of directors at T-Works, a prominent
hardware prototyping center in India.

CONCLUSION
• Phanindra Samahas now continued to fund new startups, as an angel investor. The nicest part
about his newly created site is that he did not start it as a business. He merely intended to find a
solution and assist everyone who was experiencing the same difficulties he had.
• Sama's success story demonstrates how a small idea can grow into a multi-crore business.
• It exemplifies the transformative power of identifying real-world problems, applying innovative
solutions, and persistently working toward societal improvement.
