3. For our pre-planning, my group and I thought of several different but affordable ways (as we
are creating an independent film) we could use special effects in order to appeal to our target
market and make the film look more realistic. With the use of face make up, latex and fake
blood, along with several attempts, we created various ‘wound’ like images on the skin.
To begin with, everyone in our group did a skin test to check to see if they were allergic to the
latex and make up, after successfully completing the initial stage, we begun the process of
making the ‘wound’.
We applied a semi-thick layer onto our skin then add another once it dried. We then create a
small gash in the latex to create a ripped skin effect (zombie like). We painted the latex with
skin coloured pain/foundation to make the latex look like your actual skin. Then in the middle
of the gash, you add in the darkest colours: black, green, purple, red, blending them together
will create a bloody wound type effect. The very last step is to add the fake blood.
