As the director, I am responsible for most risks of the film shoot. Common sense and health and safety rules must always be followed. Key risks identified include illness or injury of actors, scheduling clashes, bad weather, memory card issues, and equipment malfunctions. Strategies to prevent or overcome these risks include having backup actors and rescheduling if needed, maintaining close communication to avoid clashes, checking weather forecasts and rescheduling as needed, bringing multiple backup memory cards to every shoot, and ensuring equipment is in good working order.
1. Risk Assessment
As Director I am responsible for the majority of these risks, however
it is important to remember that general health and safety rules and
‘”common sence” should be obeyed at all times.

In the case of the actor being
ill, I will ensure a substitute is in

Me/ Actor In case of myself being ill,
the risk cannot be overcome
and imminent reschedule will
need to take place.
Sometimes there may be
unexpected circumstances in
which the actor or myself is

I will check the weather forecast
beforehand and ensure that it is
appropriate for the relevant scene. If
it is not, rescheduling will need

I will ensure that I bring at least
two back-up memory cards to ever
shoot so that if one does not work
I am fully covered. I will use USB
memory cards as these hold huge
amounts of video footage.
