This document identifies and assesses risks associated with an outdoor film shoot in Kenya. It lists potential risks such as bad weather, illness or injury of actors, equipment issues, lighting problems, unsafe or unavailable locations, and public interference. For each risk, it identifies ways to prevent the risk from occurring or overcome it if it does, such as rescheduling shoots due to weather or illness, properly maintaining equipment, having backup plans for memory cards or batteries, practicing risk locations, and choosing secluded areas. The overall goal is to minimize risks to the shoot through advance planning and preparation.

1. Risk Identified Shooting Location Responsibility Overcoming/Preventing the Risk
Weather Headland Kenya/Environment To prevent this issue I can check
the weather constantly weeks
before the shoot outside, and
during. This will minimalise the
risk of being caught out in bad
weather. If it was to happen then
we wouldhave tocancelthe shoot
and reschedule for another day.
Illness/Injury All Kenya/Actor To overcome the illness showing
up on the shoot day scheduled,
keepaskingthe actortoseeif they
feel any different. If they feel an
illnesscomingonthenreschedule
the shoot for another day.
Actors unavailability All Kenya/Actor To preventthisriskI must get the
actorsto checkif theyare free and
if anythingcouldsuddenlyappear
which they have to attend. Doing
this will minimalise the risk.
Broken Equipment All Kenya To prevent the equipment
breaking I will not put it in a
situationwhichcoulddamage it.I
will avoid taking the equipment
out in bad weather.AlsoI will ask
the actors to carry some of the
equipmentsothatitiscaredforat
all times.

If the memory card fills up on my
shoot thenI could take my laptop

or end the shoot and reschedule
for another day.
Low Battery All Kenya Before going out to film I will
charge the camera up. Also I will
take the camera charger with me
to the shoot in case it needs
charging.
Performance Issues All Actors To prevent the actor not

will first of all pick a confident
actor. If there are any issues then
I will redo the shot until the

Lighting All Kenya The lighting for outdoors may not
be controllable,but to prevent it
beingterrible Iwill checkthe time
of day and incase fog is due to
occur which would make the
lighting worse. To overcome a
lighting issue I could take extra
lighting such as a torch and place
itinspecificplacestogetdifferent
effects.
Location
Availability/Safety
All Kenya The outside location could be
dangerous but to prevent the risk
of any issue happening I will take
an adult to supervise the area
around us while I am filming.
Availability could be an issue but
to make sure the venue I want to
use is available at the right time I
will keepin constant contact with
the owner.
Public Interference All Public/Kenya/Actor To prevent the risk of public
interference I will chose a

be at the shoot and if an
