Rip Fold Scrunch is a play directed by Chris Elwell and performed by Maria Thomas, Jesal Patel, and Harry Napier at the Half Moon Young People's Theatre. The actors gave outstanding performances. The play was enjoyable for both children ages 2-5 and those over 10. One memorable trick involved colorful papers falling slowly from the ceiling at the end of the play. The moral of the story is to never give up on your friends. The play had an interactive session at the end where children could rip, fold, or scrunch colorful papers.

nique but strange. Weird but intriguing.
Different but enchanting. These were
all words that I can use to describe Matt
Pfeiffer’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream shown at
the Arden Theater Company last Wednesday
night. It started off with the house band, which
also comprises of the lead actors within the play,
playing an orchestra of different instruments,
from the acoustic guitar to the washboards. Even
though the show hadn’t started, I still thought it
was a peculiar way to begin it but in all honesty,
from the moment I walked into the theater, I
knew it wouldn’t be an ordinary experience; and
I was right.
The show is a modern twist on the classic
tale of forbidden love that is considered to be
one of the most foundational plays in Western
culture. This play, and the way it is executed,
requires an open mind. Forbidden love is seen
throughout the show as an ongoing theme, even
though the audience is bouncing from one-time
period to another. The story is a romantic
comedy that depicts the events circulating around
the love story of Hippolyta and Theseus. The
story goes on to feature the trials and tribulations
of four young lovers who become enchanted
under a botanic spell.
The characters within this production are
the main reason as to why this production is so
unique in its own way: they wear regular clothes
and look more like people in today’s society.
Crazy, right? It’s as if they are able to forget
about the current time period that they are
actually in and make themselves believe that we
all took a quick trip back to ancient Athens, and
then back. Then back to Athens. Then back to
now. The cast is bursting at the seams with
talented actors and actresses. Mary Tuomanen,
Lindsay Smiling, Sean Close and Brandon J.
Pierce as Puck, Oberon/Theseus, Bottom and
Demetrius offered comedic relief while Taysha
Marie Canales as Hermia, who is making her
return back to the Arden, and Rachel Camp as
Helena, offer a great mixture of both love-
stricken tragedy and catty entertainment.
A definite standout moment was when
Puck and Oberon were at the top of the stage,
smoking hookah while down on the stage, a
complete disaster was occurring: the lovers begin
to lay their eyes on someone other than who
their heart desires and the kicker is that they
can’t control it. Puck was doing exactly what I
was doing, which was cracking up in my seat.
Tuomanen and Smiling had a distinct chemistry
that I didn’t really see amongst the other
characters, and that was okay with me. Due to
this and the nature of Puck’s character, you can’t
help but fall in love with the dynamic duo.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream had the

wondering what things would be like if minds

Reading Response: The Vagina Monologues
The Vagina Monologues is a play comprising episodes written by Eve Ensler. This play is mainly based on the monologues made by a large number of women about their genital organ named “Vagina.” The author herself is a woman, so she has a good knowledge of the main theme of the play. The monologues made by several women about their experience of sexual relationship and their perceptions about vagina (Ensler, 2007). Different women have different thinking about their vagina. Some have quoted, “My Angry Vagina”, “Because he liked to look at it”, My Vagina was my Village” and many more. The content of the play is quite realistic as it is based on the monologues made from the personal experiences of the women. From the reading, it has been inferred that women of different age and background have different feelings about their vagina. Young women, married women, lesbians, sex workers, all have their own views about their vagina. The work is formed in a structured and interesting ways to keep the interests of readers to a greater extent. At some places, the play gives a negative portrayal of the sexual relationship of males and females. In all it has been inferred from the reading that though vagina is the supreme embodiment of all the females, yet they take it in different ways.

Corpus Christie
Terrence Mc Nally’s Corpus Christi forays a multitude of onlookers as it deals with a very delicate and peculiar issue. The play projects the outrageous question of portraying Jesus Christ as gay. Depicting Christ as gay brings no difference to his fate which means he is deceived by Judas and is crucified for all to observe. The play, despite the rising controversies, passes the message of parity. But the spectators view the surface aspects of the play that creates the hullabaloo. The predestined minds of the viewers can never accept Christ as a homosexual and definitely consider the play as blasphemous. I personally oppose many factors in the play. The strong religious background never allows people like us to take a positive stance with the play. Christ is a popular and revered figure and to accept him as a human with all follies is something that requires a special and peculiar sense of spirit which is difficult to achieve. Jesus is born of immaculate conception and it is predestined that his life should be and certainly be immaculate. The mind set can never be altered with such ease and there is always a tendency to categorize the play as sacrilegious. There are still double sided opinions regarding homosexuality and yet there are debates as to whether it be regarded as natural or not. In any case, it is not fair to disturb the feelings of a sect of people. In my personal opinion, the play is disgraceful. The play’s apparent objective of upholding lenience by misportraying a venerated personality that Christians all around the globe reflect to be celestial needs to.

The Machinal. When I first heard the name of the play, I thought that it would be related to something about cars, machines or even any mechanical devices because of the name. After that, I googled it and read some topics about the play and the playwright. I found too many interesting information. Firstly, I found that it’s a 1928 play which is written by the American playwright and the journalist Sophie Treadwell. Added to this, it’s inspired by true events from the life of the convicted and executed murderer Ruth Snyder. It’s obvious that this wonderful play is considered one of the most highpoints plays on the American stage till now and it will continue at this honorable spot for a very long time. I liked the paly and it left an awesome feeling inside me. The Theater was astonishing. It was huge, very organized and amazing. If I continue to say my opinion about the theater and the play, it will take a very long time because I really loved both of them.
Now I’m going to talk emotionally about the play. To be honest, at the beginning the play was a little bit boring and the events were too slow due to that Helen is fighting and struggling everything around her but after a while the main picture became clear and the theme of the play became obvious which touched me from inside. the play made me felt sorry for Helen because no one was thinking about what she wants, all of them were caring about their own benefits only even her own mother and her boss who she married. I think that the main theme of the play is telling the audience with a expressionism way how the main character (Helen) feels about her life and how she fights and struggles to reach her own satisfaction and comfort although all of the circumstances that is facing her and standing as a barrier between her and her goals in life. That is the big picture of the play.
Let’s go ahead and talk about the actor’s performance. Firstly, the actress who played the character of Helen jones. She was one of the best actresses that I ever saw on stage, she was very convincing and showed the audience the real feeling that Helen feels and she was really feeling the character as it were her for real! I liked her way of acting too much and she is a wonderful actress. The Boss (George h. Jones) was very amazing too and was personalizing the character in a very good way. The mum, lover and even the secondary characters were very good too and they did a very good show. On the other hand, the relationships that the actors created were so believable. th.

Reaction Paper for Duality (A Perspective on Truth)
The theater presentation that was held in Singletary Hall in Riverside Community College on November16th, 2016 at 7pm was amazing and I had a lot of fun and real theater and as I said again that I would prefer going in place of a cinema and watching movies.
The play was funny and has a lot of meaning of perspective on truth that how you explain or telling the truth. The director did a really good job by affectively locating and presenting the storyline onto one stage. The dialogues used and the story was meaningful, while the lighting used was gentle and exposing what needed to be lit at exact moments. I like what they did in back stage that was normal view and reality.
The acting of characters were talented, motivated, and reality. They voice were really clear and sensible. Most of characters have double character in acting and they act as a professional actor. The characters send a message or the point of the play with sample way.
The dialogues used and the story was meaningful, while the lighting used was gentle and exposing what needed to be lit at exact moments.
The scenes were reality and from our story life and the best part that I like show and act in play as in house, bar or in street. The scenes were wisdom and have a lot of a emotional that some scenes makes you laughing and other makes your teardrop and everyone did a great job on their timing, since I feel that is one of the most crucial and important part of a play as it can make a play or break a play. Background play was normal and relax that show you in real life like some scenes you feel in house or in bar.
The equalized seating arrangement that you could see through and hear pitch perfect along with the differences you can only judge through the primary and the secondary characters. Time flew very fast especially when you are enjoying what you are doing. Technical instruments and equipment used was advanced and really helped with the lighting and shadow effects over the stage. Everything seemed really organized and perfected over and over again to integrate into one single play. They were definitely successful since they did not slip in any dialogue and seem to be very fluent and confident with every move they were making on the stage.
The best part for me on the play was “sleep with me” that I like it because was explain the truth by funny part that makes me laugh each time I remember.
I appreciate everyone on the stage even they are in same my age approximately they act as expert because they let the audience respond in each scene. When I was watching the actors I felt like I would act with them. It seems like something really hard to achieve and once completed should give a sense of a accomplishment and pride in them self. /Describing/
Last semester on October 9th, my boyfriend and I attended the production of "Stupid F---ing Bird by Aaron Posner" performed at Studio 88 by the Miami Department of Theatre. We just went for fun, not knowing anything about the actual play. I once practiced lines of this piece with my friend, and came away from that thinking it was a comedy. This was NOT a comedy. Before the show started, all actors were passing out playbills, and responded to people coming into the studio as their characters, not themselves. They took on the attitude of the people in the play. The playbill gave us the insight on things that may have been slightly adapted from the original production, and the show included original music composed by the actors as well as different interpretations of a few scenes from the original show. It also included various interaction with the audience where there would be long pauses of silence with the on stage actors waiting for the audience's response (they didn't move on with the show until someone responded. Some of that took a while.) The description of the performance provided by the Department of Theatre is as follows:
"Love, death, beauty, despair and one unfortunate seagull collide in this unabashedly provocative riff on Chekhov’s classic. Con is a burgeoning playwright in love with his ingénue; his mother, an aging actress, is involved with a famous novelist; the novelist, in turn, is increasingly enchanted with Con’s girlfriend; and everyone else suffers on the sidelines. Chekhov’s characters still ruminate on love, revolution and the pursuit of happiness, but this time convention is severely compromised."
(I wish I had known this information before, because honestly it would have better prepared me for what I was about to deal with emotionally.)
/Interpreting/
Having the characters passing out playbills rather than just someone not in the show giving them out was an interesting way to meet the characters before we saw them perform on stage. Even when we greeted someone who we knew, he acted as though he never met us before and didn't know why we called him by a different name. All of them took it very seriously and played it out well. It added an extra layer of depth to each character. While I often feel like added original songs are unnecessary and tend to take away from the show rather than add to it, I will admit that the lyrics of each song they performed set the mood for the scene that would directly follow. There were also many times where actors would go off-stage and perform dialogue in different places in the audience, or sound effects would be heard to inform us that something happened. This added to the overall effect of having the audience be included in what was transpiring on stage/off-stage. Many times when the characters would speak, it would be as though they were speaking directly to us rather than to another character on stage. At the end of the show especially, this played a large role in havin.
Noises Off program
This farce is about the production of a show where things go hilariously wrong. To represent this in the program, I designed the program with half of it for the show that is being performed for the audience and the other half for the show within the show. This is the program through the actual show side.

Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.

The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

- 1. Rip Fold Scrunch Report Rip Fold Scrunch is a well-written play by Chris Elwell the Director of the Company of Half Moon Young’s People Theatre. The performers Maria Thomas (Rip), Jesal Patel (Fold) and Harry Napier (Scrunch) played their role outstandingly superior. I have been given the chance to watch the show, which I enjoyed enormously. The work that the actors, staff and freelancers gave in to the show is unbelievable. The fact that I was here to witness the all organisation shows that Half Moon Young People’s Theatre care about the student to have a good time in their placement. Even though the play is for 2-5 years old, anyone over 10 would love it as much as the 2-5 years old enjoyed it. When I first watch the show, I wasn’t aware of the entire trick they had install but at the end of it when it comes to clearing the set, I was absolutely aware of the tricks. One of the trick was going to toward the end of the play, the trick was that they had a lot of small colourful papers which came down slowly from the ceiling and it was so amazing because I never expect anything like it. Rip Fold Scrunch is a memorable play that I would never forget. I think the moral of the play is never give up on your friends even supposing they did something unreasonable. Is unusual for Plays to have a play session at the end of the show for the children’s but Rip Fold Scrunch definitely surpass the point. At the end of the play, the children’s were aloud to play with colourful papers to either RIP the paper, Fold the paper or Scrunch the paper. I thank the whole member of Half Moon Young People’s Theatre for given me the opportunity to observe the whole making a of a Play.
