Craig has worked for the BYU-Idaho Housing and Student Living Office for five months. During this time, he developed an important training resource called The Student Living Teaching and Learning resource to help students, ecclesiastical leaders, and apartment managers. Craig is now leading the ongoing development of this project. Craig also wrote a proposal analyzing how Student Living could be integrated into Gateway Seminars after discussing the concept with his manager. The letter writer attests that Craig is self-driven, creative, and understands that focusing on people is important for any organization's success. He is recommended for any open position.
Riley Burton Recommendation, BYU-I Student Living Manager
1. To whom it may concern,
My name is Riley Burton I serve as the Student Living manager for BYU-Idaho. I have known
Craig since January of 2015. In that time I have observed him to be a person of high caliber
especially in his ability to lead and direct others. His genuine interest in the success of others
has made him very fruitful for the intent of the BYU-Idaho Housing and Student Living
Office. After being employed by our office for only five months Craig approached me with a
training resource concept. With limited guidance and simple parameters Craig developed a
training resource, The Student Living Teaching and Learning resource, that could be integrated
for the development of students assigned to be teachers in an ecclesiasticalsetting, for
ecclesiastical leaders, and for approved housing apartment managers. Because of our limited
resources this resource will pay huge dividends in the development of students given the
assignment to teach their peers. This project is evolving and Craig is leading this effort.
During one of our meetings, developing The Student Living Teaching and Learning resource, we
discussed at length, a concept for furthering the message of Student Living. Craig then wrote a
wonderful proposal that reviewed a great deal of experience Craig had serving in Gateway
Seminars. He thoroughly analyzed the organization of Gateway Seminars and then promoted a
number of ways in which Student Living could be integrated into Gateway
Seminars. Furthermore he counseled us, with his proposal, the most strategic course to
receiving approval and integrating ourselves into the program.
It has been my experience that Craig is self-driven, autonomous, creative, teachable, and loyal
to the vision of the organization by which he is employed. What is most unique about Craig is
his understanding that people are the most important piece to any operation. Therefore he has
employed his skills and knowledge to developing resources that educate, and structure that
frees people from unnecessary burdens that keep them from succeeding. Please consider Craig
in your position. He will provide great value to any organization he is a part of.
Sincerely,
Riley Burton
Student Living Manager
