Qualified Plug-in Electric Drive Motor Vehicle Credit •Vehicle must have at least 4 wheels • That is propelled by significant extent by an electric motor • Draws electricity from a battery of at least 4 kWh • Capable of charging from an external source • Has a gross vehicle weight of under 14,000 lbs • Credit is $2,500 plus $417 per additional kWh above 4 kWh. The total amount of credit allowed is limited to $7,500 •Use IRS Form 8936

Qualified Plug-in Electric and Electric Vehicle Credit •For two or three wheeled electric vehicles with at least 2.5 kWh of battery • Low-speed 4 wheeled plug-in electric vehicles with at least 4 kWh of battery •That is propelled by significant extent by an electric motor • Credit is $2,500 or 10 percent of the cost, which ever is lowest •Use IRS Form 8834 Credit sunsets December 31, 2013

Charging System Incentives • Federal Credit • Business Credit is 30 percent of the cost up to $30,000 • Personal Credit is 30 percent of the cost up to $1,000 • Use IRS Form 8911 • If the purchaser is a tax exempt organization, government unit or a foreign person the seller can take the credit Credit sunsets December 31, 2013
