Richard Nixon was the 37th president of the United States, serving from 1969 to 1974. He was born in California in 1913 and died in 1994. Nixon attended Whittier College and Duke University Law School. He served as vice president under Dwight Eisenhower from 1953 to 1961 prior to being elected president. As president, Nixon ended US involvement in Vietnam, improved relations with China and the Soviet Union, and saw the first moon landing, though his presidency ended in scandal with the Watergate affair.
