This document summarizes a project to develop an innovative water recycling scheme for use in the petrochemical industry. The project aims to decrease water usage and wastewater generation through a treatment process combining biological, separation, and ion exchange technologies. It will demonstrate the feasibility of the scheme at a Dow petrochemical site in Tarragona, Spain and disseminate results to promote broader adoption. The project involves various partners and outlines objectives, actions, timelines, deliverables, and meeting schedules to guide implementation and monitoring of the water recycling demonstration from 2016-2019.

To resolve upcoming shortages in clean drinking water, Waternomics will explore technologies and methodologies needed to successfully reduce water consumption from households, companies and municipalities. Waternomics is a three year, EU-funded project that started in February 2014 and will evaluate its results in three real life experiments in Italy, Greece and Poland.
This status report presents the progress made to date towards the goals set out in the SUBMARINER Roadmap. It reflects action taken on key issues requiring joint effort in the Baltic Sea Region in order to enhance blue-green growth while sus- taining and improving its natural capital and, in particular, the Baltic Sea itself. In reference to the SUBMARINER Roadmap, this review surveys the most important strategic advances and remaining issues to be addressed in a broad range of initiatives.
