Need of the Project
In academic institutions, navigating and providing directions for
visitors or freshers takes a lot of effort. Pictorial floor maps are
hard to follow for many people, and also orally guiding them
through the directions is a laborious task.
The above problem should be solved technically to make
navigation simpler. This can be done by using an android device
that navigates them to their destination.
Objective of the Project
In our proposed system, we automate the management system of
our college campus by using beacons. A beacon is a low-energy
Bluetooth device that is used to broadcast signals and notify the
tracker device. This system can be applied to other scenarios of
management systems as well like in a company office, a mall, etc.
Novelty of the idea proposed
• The beacons we use should be energy-conserving. This can be
achieved by using a photo sensor that puts OFF the device after
dusk.
• As we see people buy beacons and use the ready-made device,
we plan to construct one by using Raspberry Pi.
Target Beneficiary Group
The target beneficiary group of the intended project is
AMC Engineering College.
Possible Outcome of the Project
(Mention Expected output, Publication, Competition, Fund)
Description of Implementation
First, we construct a few BLE beacons using Raspberry Pi. We
program it according to the sensors that need to be attached and the
web application that is required for image processing and navigation.
Web application for mobile is developed using python.
