This document provides a review and summary of research on solar powered thermoelectric coolers. It discusses how thermoelectric coolers use the Peltier effect to transfer heat electronically without moving parts. Several studies are summarized that experimented with powering thermoelectric refrigeration systems using solar panels. The document concludes that solar powered thermoelectric refrigeration could provide a low-cost, clean, and maintenance-free way to power refrigeration in remote areas without access to electricity.
