Retem Grid description and specifications
The 3-D Steel Grid is a three dimensional web made of galvanized steel deployed on two levels of parallel steel strips linked by oblique ribs without welding points.
Pallet of Retem 3D steel Grid panels Pallets of 160 panels – 3.2 x 1.3 cm each. Total area 500 m 2 , total weight 1.2 tons. Height varies according to designer requirements from 4 cm to 8 cm. Steel thickness is 1.40 mm. Weight per square meter: 2.25 kg.
Main applications in erosion control Reinforcement for concrete lining JK Spillway
Reinforcement for concrete lining Waterway Construction Method
Retem Panels Brought to Working Site
Worker Laying Panels
Stake Insertion
3D Grid with Pressure Hole
Concrete Filling Requirements For 4 cm high grid, 8 cm. thick concrete (covering of steel, 2 cm on each side). For 8 cm high grid, 12 to 14 cm thick concrete (covering of steel, 2 to 3 cm on each side).
Spreading the Concrete
10 Years of Experience Over 1,500,000 square meters of lining. Not a single repair request has been registered. Ditches in a US Army facility
Flexible Adaptation to Ditch Contour
Ditch on Cracked Rock Shallow ditch lining prevents water infiltration through cracked rock and weakening of the road pavement.
Narrow Steep Sides Retem is highly flexible. This allows the building of narrow water works in rural areas.
70 Foot Wide Waterway
Typical Rough Finish Colored Texture
A Rough Finish Retaining Wall
River Bank Protection 3D steel grid flexibility allows to build reinforcement belts as an integral Part of the construction by folding the grid.
Reinforcement for Concrete Structure Spillways
Spillways The steel grid provides reinforcement for the chute and its belts in one monolithic structure.
Inlet and Ditch
Rock Filling on Reservoir Bank
Stabilizing collapsed river banks Seis, Italy, 2000
Slopes under a road Bayern, Germany 3. Vegetalisation (seeds and fertilizers) 2. Inserting stones and soil 1. Anchoring the 3D grid
Panel installed for Soil Filling
Same Slope after One Year
Used with anchors and projected concrete, 3D web provides long lasting protection to hewn hillsides. Outstanding results are obtained by use of Retem 3D grid in erosion prevention. Spillways designed with 3D grid in all lengths and inclinations are built in a single operation without using wood frames. Can be implemented in the most difficult soil and in the most extreme topography. Fast execution. Large waterways and narrow canals are being stabilized with 3D grid lining. Long-lasting and full protection. No requirements for skilled workers. Low cost of construction. Slopes of very steep inclination are easily treated. No maintenance cost. 3D Grid in Land Stabilization
Other Applications
Panels are held together using staples. Straightened by horizontal reinforcement. Lined on both sides with a steel net. Filled with a concrete pump from bottom to top. Finished by traditional means. Building Method
Typical Wall Reinforcement
