Richard L. Runyon Jr. has over 20 years of experience in golf course and construction management. He holds degrees from Lord Fairfax Community College and UVA's College at Wise, and is a PGA graduate and Class A licensed contractor in Virginia. As PGA Head Professional at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club from 2000-2010, he oversaw golf operations and was one of the youngest in that role nationally. From 2004-2010, as Managing Partner of Runyon Miller Construction, he managed renovation and new construction projects. Currently, as General Manager of Shenandoah Valley Golf Club since 2010, he facilitates all golf course and clubhouse operations.

PGA Head Professional: Shenandoah Valley Golf Club: 2000 – 2010
 Appointed to the Head PGA Golf Professional position and served as one of the
youngest in the country. Duties included: golf shop management, merchandise
ordering/inventory, and tournament operations.
Managing Partner: Runyon Miller Construction: 2004-2010
● Designed, reviewed, approved, and managed numerous renovations and new
construction.
● Managed subcontractors and laborers to ensure an efficient operation.
● Established and managed budgets for all construction projects
● Designed contracts and established timelines to home owners and contractors
● Ensured that each job site was a safe and professional looking daily
General Manager: Shenandoah Valley Golf Club: 2010 - Present
● Tenure spanning sixteen years includes facilitating outdoor operations, food and
beverage management, course maintenance, fundraising, and recruitment.
● Worked collaboratively with a team of managers on budgeting and cost control
measures for their departments annually.
● Cultivated and established relationships with local, state and federal agencies for
fundraising and community efforts.
● Created SMART goals for staff members and held weekly management meetings and
1:1 development meetings.
● Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, IBS Point of Sale System Software.
● Identified and -mitigated all disruptions and conflicts professionally with clients,
