Trainer, Makeup Artist-
- I have worked for Benefit Cosmetics since 2009. I started as a counter manager at the Barton Creek Macys location (now
closed) and have continued as a regional trainer. I work in various retailers including Sephora, Ulta, and Macus running
events, training staff and freelancers on new product with a focus on both artistry and driving sales. I have recently
transferred to the LA market after working in the Texas area for the last 6 years.
In addition to this position with Benefit I have worked for Smashbox and Lancome as an artist for larger events and master
classes. I have with both of these lines created and run events, trained, and tracked sales goals. I recently taught a master
class for Smashbox where I helped to shape the curriculum for artistry, product focus, and sales goals.
In addition I work freelance for myself. I do makeup for weddings, photo shoots and film. My most recent film work was
assisting Ali Davis on the film Flay. I am listed on IMDB as Beth Martinez II. I also have assisted current Wall Group/Dior
makeup artist Daniel Martin for New York Fashion week.
I also write a blog www.onculturebeauty.wordpress.com that features reviews, tutorials, and commentary on makeup and
fashion. I have been published before on online magazines as well, I have included two links below. I have been featured
in Beautiful Decay Magazine Issue “L”.
Hair Stylist- I worked as a stylist in the Los Angeles area for 7 years. I was a color specialist but also cut hair and did styling. I worked
as both a booth renter and on commission. My last position in this field was as a senior stylist at Salon Pop which was a
Wella and Bumble and Bumble Salon. Along with maintaining my clientele I educated the assistants and staff on color,
merchandising, ordering merchandise, and keeping books.
During my time as a hair stylist I was featured in several beauty articles in various publications giving advice on product,
weddings, and general hair expertise. Have advanced training cut,color and product classes with Aveda (certification
available), Bumble and Bumble, Wella and Redken. Worked large music events doing hair such as Coachella and Weenie
Roast through Golden Voice.
