EXPERIENCE
Engineering Intern at Lear Corporation, Southfield, Michigan May 2017 – August 2017
 Built a prototype of vehicle wire harness for Ford’s Lincoln MKC using downsized wires and CNT to decrease weight
by 13% and cost by 10%. Created novel connection techniques resulting in 4 Invention Disclosure submissions.
 Validated crimp height, strength, cross-section, wing lock, bell-mouth and compaction as per rules put forward by
USCAR21 and USCAR38.
 Utilized DFMEA to inspect crimp connection failure and DOE to drive the decision making process.
 Designed an operating tool using Catia V5 and initiated an extra die process without any cycle time delay. Resolved
waste storage and handling by using 5S principles.
 Utilized device transmittals and 2D drawings to understand the path for redesign. Gained knowledge of ultrasonic and
resistance spot welding.
 Initiated, documented and maintained a report of research findings and team performance for weekly presentation to
managers; yielding increase in efficiency.
Intern at Tata Steel, INDIA July 2015 – August 2015
 Worked at Wire and Rod Mills department to support engineers in maintenance, inspection and improvement of Power
& Feed Conveyor system, based on goals set by organization.
 Utilized lean principles (Kaizen, 5S, Single Piece Flow and FIFO) to optimize material flow, reduce downtime and
MUDA of process.
 Proposed potential improvements such as use of nylon rollers instead of steel, proximity sensors instead of ski bars and
sensor pins which increase productivity by 57% and reduce cost by 20%.
EXTRACURRICULAR PARTICIPATION
Business team member, FSAE Electric at University of Michigan-Dearborn September 2017 - Present
 Developing detailed BOM to present a cost report of 100+ pages itemizing all parts and costs in vehicle production.
 Updated and maintained 200+ rows of purchase orders to improve budget utilization and verified incoming quotes and
invoice from suppliers.
 Worked on business logic case for investment in our team to gain points and increase teamscores at competition.
PROJECTS
Modern Treadmill with ECU (Energy Conversion Unit) September 2017 – December 2017
 Modeled the ECU using Solidworks and Catia V5.
 Evaluated design and assembly using DFMEA and DFA
 Analyzed the new product development process using Lean Manufacturing technique.
 Performed Benchmarking, QFD and BOM to analyze cost structure and unique value proposition. Forecasted annual
savings of $39M in electricity.
Under Armour’s Production and Operation Management January 2017 – April 2017
 Performed trend analysis, regression and forecasting to explain the sales data based on inventory model and capacity of
manufacturing plants.
 Utilized Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) to get optimal lot size and Material Resource Planning (MRP) for potential
cost reduction up to 24%.
Process Improvement of Rocker Panel Assembly for Buick Lacrosse September 2016 – December 2016
 Utilized Lean 6-sigma principles of DMAIC to detect welding and assembling failure.
 Performed PFMEA, Project Charter, Pareto Analysis, Gage R&R, Ishikawa diagram, Root Cause analysis and ANOVA
to analyze the automated production schedule.
 Reduced overtime production by 20% and slashed cost of delay and rework resulting in $29,150 savings annually.
Quantitative Method for Choosing Best Flight Service based on Arrival Timings September 2016 – December 2016
 Analyzed delay in airline arrival and chose Delta Airlines to provide the most reliable service over its competitors
United Airlines and American Airlines.
 Performed Statistical Process Control like normality test and transformation, control chart analysis, stability and
capability analysis and hypothesis testing on Minitab to validate the conclusion.
Predict Stock value of Dow Jones Industrial Average using Daily News September 2016 – December 2016
 Designed a system using regression forecast, NgramTokenizer, time lag and word cloud to predict the effect of daily
news on Dow Jones stock data over a period of time.
 Improved prediction accuracy from 52.55% to 63.06% using R, Minitab and JMP.
HONORS & CERTIFICATIONS
 Udemy Certificate of Completion - SAP for beginners (Certificate no. - UC-EFOHKKWX) October 2017
 Certificate of Excellence - Robert Bosch North America Hackathon August 2017
 WINNER Lear Open Innovation Challenge; and INNOVATIVE team award April 2017
 Non-Resident Graduate Tuition Scholarship - University of Michigan–Dearborn September 2016
