Senior Programmer: March 1989 to June 1989
I led a team of programmers on a conversion project that migrated an accounts receivable system
from IBM to DEC VAX. This project was supposed to take two years. I was able to facilitate it in
three months. To do this, I had to write utilities and device drivers to modify the spooler function
so that it could be restarted at a particular page after a paper jam or other malfunction. I also wrote
a program in VAX Macro Assembler that converted all data in just a few minutes instead of several
days. Completing the project early and my influence on the other staff members significantly
decreased the cost of the project and made it available to users much sooner.
