Out of Africa Wildlife Park 10/25/2006-present
Carnivore Manager
Responsibilities Include:
Management of nine keepers.
Management of interns/volunteers.
Husbandry of over 50 different species both free and protected contact including ursids,
felids, hyaenids, canids, hoofstock, ratites, and reptiles.
Participation in capture and restraint.
Conduction of in-depth educational tours.
Preparation of diets and feeding of large carnivores.
Assistance in medical procedures.
Allocation of medications.
Daily enrichment.
Performance in a show called Tiger Splash in which instincts are triggered in tigers to
entertain, educate, and inspire the public to action.
Driving large vehicles through a 22-acre habitat with free-roaming animals while
educating the public on zoological facts and conservation.
Habitat construction, maintenance, and landscaping.

Entered data, made sales calls and determined the cost and logistics of the product.

I am the primary Emergency Response Team shooter wether it be with a lethal or tranquilizer
gun. Expert marksman; numerous accolades in shooting competitions. Experience anesthetizing/
medicating animals with CO2 fired dart guns, cartridge fired dart guns, blow guns, pole syringe,
and by hand.
Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles and various construction vehicles.
Ability to lift over 200 pounds and work in extreme weather conditions.
Excellent public speaker.
I’m a large Carnivore expert specializing in felids, and I keep current via scientific studies
published by organizations like IUCN’s cat specialist group.
Established Out of Africa’s first philanthropic program to allow patrons to instantly donate to
National Geographic’s Big Cat Initiative.
Established Out of Africa’s recycling program.
Established Out of Africa’s first Drill program. I now routinely run animals escape drills
incorporating local first response and our veterinary staff to keep our keepers sharp.
