A sonographer uses ultrasound imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images and scans of a patient's anatomy to assist physicians in diagnosis; their duties include preparing patients and equipment, performing scans, analyzing results, and communicating findings to doctors; successful sonographers require strong technical, interpersonal, and physical skills to accurately operate machinery and obtain quality images.
Image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) is the use of imaging during radiation therapy to improve the precision and accuracy of treatment delivery. IGRT is used to treat tumors in areas of the body that move, such as the lungs. Radiation therapy machines are equipped with imaging technology to allow your doctor to image the tumor before and during treatment.
AIIMS- OPD Appointment Management System
Understanding the outdoor patient flow at AIIMs and the efficiency of the system handling the footfalls. ZeebraCross Heath team conducted a research on understanding the problems which the Outdoor Patients encounter – like long waiting queues, limited service counters for patient registration, improper maintenance of patients’ traffic at the OPD section. These factors play a vital role in diluting the patient experience & provide them with an option to look for better alternatives. Backed with actual findings & data the Team suggested an approach which comprehended the challenges in most effective manner- An SMS Solution with Back feed technology and analytics & a centrally monitored TV channel with a compatible platform.
SMS registration technology where the issued Sms code would act as the ID and Token for patients identification thereby cutting down the waiting time; unmanageable crowd & preventing patients from getting turned away. The centrally monitored TV channel helps the authorities to get engaged with the patients , while they are waiting informing them about the waiting time & the throughput for each doctor so that they could effectively to plan their stay and appointment .

The purpose of this practice analysis was to compare scores from the AM-PAC “6-clicks” with those of the BBS to determine appropriate discharge destinations for patients admitted to the inpatient setting status-post CVA.
Presenter: Dr Paul Schmidt, Consultant Physician in Acute Medicine, Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust
Managing unscheduled care is high on the agenda of many health systems worldwide due to a focus on reducing hospitalizations, re-admission rates, and costs.
Guest speaker Dr Paul Schmidt, explored how simulation is being used to model a new operational strategy for unscheduled care at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, UK.
Using real life examples, we described an unscheduled care system in more detail including:
- Key challenges for unscheduled care operations
- Principles of a rational operational strategy (patient centered services, queues, lean principles etc.)
- Key stakeholder considerations (patient flow, bed capacity, staffing etc.)
- Modeling approach
- Outcomes and Lessons

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

5. Patient Preparation / Instructions
Assess the patient’s status
Educate patient
Consult and review the chart
Explain exam
Ensure the consent for treatment is complete
Prepare and position the patient
6. Diagnostic/Therapeutic Activities
Perform assessment (pre and post exam monitoring)
Administer radiopharmaceuticals, contrast media and
medications
Perform service recipient care activities
7. Analyzing the data collected and reporting the
ultrasound findings to the physician in an oral and
written fashion for diagnosis
Using independent judgment whether to extend the
scope of the ultrasound examination or not based on the
ultrasound findings
Interacting and collaborating with physicians and other
health care professionals for providing a good quality

9. Detail oriented.
Diagnostic imaging workers must follow precise instructions
to obtain the images needed to diagnose and treat patients.
They must also pay attention to the screen while scanning a
patient’s body because the cues that contrast healthy areas
with unhealthy ones may be subtle.
Hand-eye coordination.
To get quality images, diagnostic imaging workers must be
able to accurately move equipment on the patient’s body in
response to what they see on the screen.
10. Interpersonal skills.
Diagnostic imaging workers must work closely with
patients. Sometimes patients are in extreme pain or mental
stress, and they must get cooperation from the patient to
create usable images.
Physical stamina.
Diagnostic imaging workers are on their feet for long
periods and must be able to lift and move patients who
need assistance.
