Seabird populations in the Southern Grenadines have shown declines due to habitat loss, human disturbance, and invasive predators. Researchers monitored the nesting productivity of six seabird species across six islands. They counted breeding birds and monitored nest fates. Preliminary results found 47 nests with an overall success rate of 31%. No invasive predators were detected, but locals reported their presence. Continued monitoring will provide more nesting data and assess the impacts of human disturbance through interviews with local island users.
