(Nayak, 2015) Work-life Balance refers to creating synergy by a harmonious relationship between ‘work’
(carrier and ambition) and ‘lifestyle’ (health, pleasure, leisure, family and spiritual dimensions).

Happening away from job
Statement of the Problem
 Research began focusing on work-life balance issue in the early 1900s, however most of the
studies were about introducing work life balance issues, studies were limited in explaining what
effect work-life balance can have in changing employees’ attitude and behavior.
 As in previous studies, the interest in and importance of work life balance is increasing. It is
widely accepted by researchers that work life balance is associated with desirable outcomes in the
workplace area and family area ( Harrington and Lodge , 2009).
 Several researchers have pointed that the effect of work-life balance on the job and off the job is
still unclear and have called for more in depth research studies to identify what types of difficulties
employees face on the job and off the job due to unbalanced work and life.
 So, the above mentioned circumstances call for more research on work life balance issues of the
employees facing a difficult situation performing on the job.
Research Questions
 To what extent do the relationships of work and life helps to
balance work-life and what are the factors that determines the
relationship between work and life?
 To what extent the time management of employees affect the
work and family conflict?
 How personal value will create a problem in work and life?
 What are the specific factors to be considered in maintaining
the social life on the job and off the job?
 Has the satisfaction on the job and off the job resulted in
better work-life balance?
Research Objectives
To investigate the relationship between work and life and to
determine the factors affecting the relationship.
To establish success factors regarding the satisfaction of employees
on the job and off the job.
To determine the effect of time management on work and family.
To identify the impact of personal value in work and life.
To determine the specific factors to be considered to maintain the
social life at work and at home.

Statement of the Problem  Research began focusing on work-life balance issue in the early 1900s, however most of the studies were about introducing work life balance issues, studies were limited in explaining what effect work-life balance can have in changing employees’ attitude and behavior.  As in previous studies, the interest in and importance of work life balance is increasing. It is widely accepted by researchers that work life balance is associated with desirable outcomes in the workplace area and family area ( Harrington and Lodge , 2009).  Several researchers have pointed that the effect of work-life balance on the job and off the job is still unclear and have called for more in depth research studies to identify what types of difficulties employees face on the job and off the job due to unbalanced work and life.  So, the above mentioned circumstances call for more research on work life balance issues of the employees facing a difficult situation performing on the job.

Research Questions  To what extent do the relationships of work and life helps to balance work-life and what are the factors that determines the relationship between work and life?  To what extent the time management of employees affect the work and family conflict?  How personal value will create a problem in work and life?  What are the specific factors to be considered in maintaining the social life on the job and off the job?  Has the satisfaction on the job and off the job resulted in better work-life balance?
