This document provides an overview of the research process in 3 steps: 1. Decide on a topic and start searching the library catalog and databases for books and articles. The library catalog allows searching and requesting books from other libraries. 2. Databases contain citations, abstracts, and sometimes full text of articles. Choose a relevant database and search using subject terms. Abstracts can be read to evaluate sources. 3. If full text is unavailable, use the "Get It" button to search for it in other databases or request through interlibrary loan. Start research early and ask for help from instructors or librarians.
