- Prenatal alcohol exposure produced some non-significant trends toward decreased anxiety-like behavior in male rats on the elevated plus maze test. It produced significant anxiety-like behavior in males but not females on the light/dark box test. - Future studies will examine the molecular mechanisms underlying these results through biochemical and electrophysiological experiments. Researchers will also study whether similar effects are seen in adolescent rats exposed to prenatal alcohol.
