5. Jackie Brown (1997) Jackie Brown is a crime, drama and thriller by Quentin Tarantino in 1997. Living in the Los Angeles area in 1995, Jackie Brown (Pam Grier) is a flight attendant for a small Mexican airline, the latest step down for her career. Despite the low pay, the job enables her to smuggle money from Mexico into the United States for Ordell Robbie (Samuel L. Jackson). The opening scene is the main character Jackie Brown on a moving elevator with no other movement. This is a good camera shot because the camera pans as she moves along. As a group we thought this was good camera work so we thought we may also use this shot. Genre – Crime, Drama, Thriller Budgets – $12,000,000 Gross at box office - $39,647,595

7. Kill Bill V1 (2003) 9 October 2003 Kill Bill V1 by Quentin Tarantino is a two-part action thriller film released in 2003 and 2004 starring Uma Thurman as The Bride. The film opens with a shot of The Bride, covered in blood and gasping for breath. The unseen character Bill monologues briefly as the bride attempts to tell him “It’s your baby” but he shoots her in the side of the head. The special effect of the screen being red is a good effect as it represents blood. The old ‘feature presentation’ titles also show the type of movie and genre. Sound effects used also have a great effect on the audience. The music is relevant to the story as Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)". There are many shots used which is very good such as long shot of house, close up etc. Genre – Action, Crime, Thriller Budgets – $55,000,000 Gross at box office - $70,098,138
8. Donnie Brasco (1997) An FBI undercover agent infilitrates the mob and finds himself identifying more with the mafia life to the expense of his regular one. We focused on this film mostly as our film was in the same genre with similar synopsis. The opening shows the main characters in the film having a normal conversation. This shows what type of people they are and what they do. We wanted to use the same idea of slowly developing the character in the movie. Genre – Drama, Crime, Thriller Budgets – $35,000,000 Gross at box office - $41,954,997
