Understanding Business
 Find one Business Research Peer-Reviewed article, less than 10 years old, in
the University Library that contains a research study in thefunctional area of your
own job or another business functional area, e.g. Human Resources, Finance,
Management, Security, Information Technology, etc. Please make sure your
research article is a BUSINESS study. Please make sure you understand these
terms by reefing to your textbook.
 Answer the following questions identifying the stages of a research study. Use
these items as subheadings for your paper, 750 to 1,000 words.
1. Introduction: Give the Title, Author, and Journal in your introduction.
2. Summary: Give a brief summary of the study.
3. Purpose of Research: What was the purpose of the business research?
4. Research problem and/or Management dilemma: What was the

RES 351 Week 3 Creating a Measurement Instrument
Tasty Restaurant has hired Premium Research to obtain information regarding patrons'
dining experience. The main areas of interest include the following: satisfaction with the
food, interaction with the employees, ambience of the restaurant, and reasons for dining
at the restaurant.
1. Develop 10 to 12 questions with appropriate scales to address areas Tasty
Restaurant has suggested. Use at least 2, no more than 3, different scales
including:

Identify as a team, a company you would like to conduct Business Research. This can be
a large company such as WalMart, Google, NBC, etc., or a small local company. It can
also be a company one of you works for or has previously worked for. Please announce
your team Company in class messages, so we do not have two teams doing the same
company.
For the assignment:
 Provide a brief summary describing the organization.
 What is the strategic direction of the company including mission, vision, goals,
objectives and targets?
 What is one issue, opportunity, or problem facing the organization?
 What is the management dilemma?
 What are the research questions for the business research problem?
 What are the hypotheses for the business research problem?
 Why is this issue important?
 How significant is finding a solution to this issue?
Please make sure you cover all the items listed in this assignment. Your paper should
be 700 to 1,050 words in length.
