Pearl-Continental Hotels & Resorts, often abbreviated as PC.
P.C is an upper-end 4-star hotel chain in Pakistan.
The hotels are owned and operated by Hashoo Group, one of the
largest business houses in Pakistan.
Owner: SadrUddin Hashwani.
Revenue: 4.1 billion.
Net income: 600 million.
History:
1.The Pearl-Continental Hotel in Karachi was the first-ever five-star Intercontinental
Hotel in Pakistan.
2.P.C has hosted Queen Elizabeth II, Nelson Mandela, King Hussain, and other world
leaders and royalty.
3.A distinct culture flourished on the Rawal Plateau as far back as 3000 years, attracting
tourists from the world over.
4. It is known for its classic luxury and an array of restaurants. . The same property was
part of the prestigious Leading Hotels of the World club for over a decade.
5.Pearl Continental Hotel Rawalpindi enjoys the status of the only deluxe hotel in
the city.
6.With its close proximity to the archaeological sites, historical monuments and
fascinating hill stations, the hotel serves as a transit haven for the tourists.
7.A blend of warm elegance and gracious hospitality, Pearl Continental Hotel
Rawalpindi has a distinctive character of its own.

The network through out the hotel is very vast so the organization is applying each and every
possible way to connect and interact with their perspectives. The following are the ways on which

Types of Business Communication:
 Internal Communication
 External Communication
Internal Communication:
Communication within an organization is called “Internal Communication”.
Effective internal communication is a vital mean of Hotel Management concerns. Good
communication may help to increase safety, productivity, customers Satisfaction and profits and
decrease grievances and turnover.
Three types of internal communication:
a) Upward Communication
b) Downward Communication
c) Horizontal/Literal communication
Upward Communication:
Upward communication is the flow of information from subordinates to superiors, or from employees to
management
Downward Communication:
Information flowing from the top of the organizational management hierarchy and telling people in the
organization what is important (mission) and what is valued (policies).
Horizontal Communication:
Horizontal communication normally involves coordinating information, and allows people with the same or
similar rank in an organization to cooperate or collaborate
External Communication:
Communication with people outside the company is called “External Communication”.
Operational Manager and respective departments Managers communicate with other
branches e.g. (P.C Lahore, P.C Karachi) etc. outside the organization.
Classification of
Organizational Communication:
 On the Basis of channel of communication ( Formal and Informal )
 On the Basis of Direction ( Downward , Upward , Horizontal )
 On the Basis of Medium ( Verbal and Non verbal)
Findings:
 Meeting with Respective Manager is called to resolve issues.
 Encountered problems get resolved in given amount of time
 Telephonic channel for communication is considered as uncomfortable
 Formal communication
 Written communication channel is preferred
 No language barrier
 Employees not satisfied with facilities
 They are not appreciated for their performance
SUGGESTIONS AND
RECOMMENDATIONS:
 It should also communicate with other hotels of Pakistan as well for the betterment of
our social culture.
 The operational staff of the hotel should guide the illiterate people.
 There should be different schemes and packages for middle class families and some for
lower one so that they also can enjoy the royal charm in their life.
 The hotel should also represent Pakistanis culture very specifically.
Conclusion:
Communication is basically the exchange of ideas, opinions and facts between the
sender and receiver and it plays an important in any organization. Especially the
growth and good will of hotel and it largely depends on Internal and External
Communication.

SUGGESTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS:  It should also communicate with other hotels of Pakistan as well for the betterment of our social culture.  The operational staff of the hotel should guide the illiterate people.  There should be different schemes and packages for middle class families and some for lower one so that they also can enjoy the royal charm in their life.  The hotel should also represent Pakistanis culture very specifically.
  • 18. Conclusion: Communication is basically the exchange of ideas, opinions and facts between the sender and receiver and it plays an important in any organization. Especially the growth and good will of hotel and it largely depends on Internal and External Communication.
