Report Issue In this reflection, you are preparing a scientifically informed response to someone who expresses a question, or incorrect assumption regarding climate change. You will identify the situation and audience, then write a narrative that informs your audience. Begin with a section title Situation and Audience, followed by a brief description. Examples: Situation and Audience: While at dinner, Uncle Joe remarks that the question of climate change is just a political one. Situation and Audience: Hometown librarian requests a mini talk at the library on climate change. Be creative, yet try to make this reflection something you could try out in the future. After identifying the situation and audience, your reflection should include at least three (3) scientifically based points that explain the reason for, or nature of climate change. One of the first things I have noticed is how much more knowledgeable I have become about the world in theory and practice. My courses included ESL from Ministry of Education in Ontario and TESL at St. Mary’s and all were really interesting; but of course the most effective has been the positive attitudes and hard work of the students, themselves. Next week, for example will be Thanksgiving, a holiday which is specific to North America. I believe that the coursework and all of the experience have made me much more thoughtful as a person, too. REPORT ON ETHICS & INTEGRITY IN THE TASMANIAN PUBLIC SECTOR 2013 INTEGRITY COMMISSION EXECUTIVE SUMMARY 2 INTRODUCTION The Integrity Commission was established in October 2010. One of its key objectives is to improve the standard of conduct, propriety and ethics in Tasmanian public authorities by adopting a strong educative, preventative and advisory role. Since establishment, the Commission has been collecting information about the state of ethics and integrity in the public sector. The Commission has done this by delivering face to face training and education programs; establishing discussion and advisory groups (Ethical Reference Groups);1 examining public information about agencies; investigating misconduct and auditing the way agencies have responded to allegations of misconduct. Between November 2012 and January 2013, the Commission conducted a detailed survey of integrity mechanisms in state departments and government businesses.2 The total staff within agencies surveyed amounted to nearly 31,000. The Commission combined the information it had gathered from all sources, and from this survey, to produce the first ‘map’ of the gaps in ethics and integrity policies and practices in these agencies. This information provides valuable insight into the key areas of misconduct risk. The Commission will use this information to develop training, research and misconduct prevention activities (products) to ensure that the work of the Commission is directed towards the areas of highest misconduct risk and that its products are most effective in helping agencies to reduce that risk. This work will also assist agency heads to meet their obligations under the Integrity Commission Act 2009 to provide training to staff on ethics and integrity. WHAT IS A MISCONDUCT RISK? Misconduct risk arises from various sources. A poor culture; gaps in administrative processes; a lack of, or poorly drafted policies and procedures; ignorance of obligations and accountability system failures have been identified as key factors.3 Risk management models are universally recommended for agencies to assess their own governance needs, adopt (or not adopt) recommended standards and tailor their integrity frameworks to suit their needs.4 The OECD5 recommends agencies identify high risk areas and manage them with existing processes such as personnel management or internal audit. Flow sensors are also used to control engine idle, monitor recirculatory exhaust systems, and keep the interior of the vehicle cool and comfortable. After shooting the Govenor, she should stood by and awaited the police (Moskalenko & McCauley, 2011). She knowingly committed the crime understanding the circumstances under her own reasoning. Her ending was much different than most terrorist who commit crime, but it ties into the original thought that having a passion towards something and becoming triggered was something many terrorist have in common. After identifying the situation and audience, your reflection should include at least three (3) scientifically based points that explain the reason for, or nature of climate change. Write about each in a separate paragraph that includes a clear topic sentence that identifies your point. Follow each topic sentence with several sentences of supporting or explanatory text or graphics. You should include evidence gained from our text and the links provided in the guided notetaking: this reflection is not intended as a research project. You are welcome, however to include additional resources.

2. In a fourth paragraph, identify one effect of climate change that you believe might be most important to your audience, followed by supporting or explanatory text. Finally, while no one person can solve the problem of climate change, suggest what you personally plan to do or think others might do in relation to the problem. It is ok if you think the action is exceedingly small. It is a first step. Include references where appropriate. Cut and paste of links is acceptable for website citations. You may cite our course text as Environmental Chemistry (4th edition) by VanLoon and Duffy. There is no specific length requirement for the reflection; however, my estimate is it will take 500-1,000 words to do a good job.
