• Now a days Remote access technology playing a major role, it is gather All
these resources are clustered under one portal umbrella. We are some tools
and technologies for accessing library resources such as RemoteXS, Ezproxy,
VPN, Shibboleth, MyAthens and OpenAthens, Enterprise Single Sign-on(SSO).

Ezproxy is a web proxy server and authentication software. It allows
your library users to access library resources any time and from anywhere.
• The software was originally written by Chris Zagar in 1999, after hiring to
Zagar OCLC announced in January 2008 that it had acquired the product.
• It’s authenticate users based on IP address and it’s single sign-in.
• It’s a URL rewriting program

• Doesn’t require any browser setup or software to install or configure.
• Automatically activate and prompt you to log in with your Institution
username and password and automatically by showing you a popup box
asking for your library/institute login and password.

Access Management service supplied by Eduserv
• single sign-on software.
• It’s the gateway between the online world of
subscription-based content.
• OpenAthens technologies and was developed in
1994. The UK higher education community has
used it since 1996, Athens' in 1997 the name has
since been changed to 'OpenAthens' in 2007.
• It is for publishers software for service providers
supports multiple platforms and federations.

access facility to current students and faculty.
Now we have 1755 remote access users.
Some terms and conditions:
• Authorized user.
• Don’t share resources.
• Use the resources only for academic purpose.
• Individuals can used library resources.

library membership card number or with a student
card number from the VSL Library ID and a password.
This protocol allows the system to verify user's identity
and his/her eligibility to access the collection or the
resource. The range of resources, available via remote
access to individual member.

• If Publisher site is changed then remoteXS service is not working. at
that time we have to change the URL of publisher site.
• This service allow only online library subscribing database, It ‘s not
allowed to access the offline database. such as Bloomberg
database.
• Conclusion
Above the all authentication software's allows to user access library
subscription resources and identify the users, Finally this
technology enhances the skill of librarians as well as increase the
productivity of users.
• This kind of services help to marketing our library as well as
attracting library users. Because of librarian work is creating
awareness and providing information.
