I got a 40% on my citizenship test because I lacked basic historical knowledge about important topics like the Supreme Court. Getting such a low grade showed that I was deficient in knowledge about the United States that every citizen should have. The average grade of 68% also indicates that most Americans do not fully understand their own country's history and systems of government, which is regrettable since that information is crucial for citizens of any nation.

feel like I got that grade because I didn’t know enough history to answer those questions. I didn’t even
know how many Justices were on the Supreme Court. I don’t have the knowledge on important
information that I should know.
3. What does it mean to you that you got that grade? I feelashamed for getting that low grade because
that shows me that I don’t know enough information about the United States.
4. What does it say about Americans as you learned the nation's average grade on this test (68)? It’s
pretty sad that most Americans (including me) don’t know America’s history or accurate status. We
should know because it is the country we are living in.
