This document discusses the importance of Christians knowing the Bible well through study and meditation. It says remembering God's word can constrain us to act in duty, contain us during temptations, and confirm our faith when challenged. The document provides examples of how remembering scripture can conform us to truth, convict us if we sin, and comfort us during hard times. It concludes that we need to study the Bible now so that we have knowledge to draw from when facing life's difficulties.

The Miracle Of Mercy - Part 8 - Being An Agent Of Mercy To A Lost & Dying WorldLifePointe Church
Are you looking for a cause bigger than yourself? Do you want to have lasting influence and help people? God is calling all of us to do just that. He desires for everyone to have the opportunity to accept his mercy. We are part of that plan as agents of mercy. The world can be a mean place, but we can influence others by showing mercy. In this message Pastor Chuck Bernal continues his series "The Miracle Of Mercy" with a powerful message about how you can be an agent of mercy to a lost and dying world. In this message, you will learn how to apply the principles of mercy to your daily habits and exercise mercy to change people’s lives. This message was delivered at LifePointe Church in Crowley, TX on November 6, 2016.
In today’s message we will look at the value of remaining disciplined in the areas of decisions, devotions, doubts, desires and duties as a way to embrace the life we experience each day.
Time is broken up into millenniums, centuries, decades, years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, and seconds for our benefit. The benefit to us is separation. We do not have to be held captive by a single division of time, we can separate and walk in a new division. God is the Father of time and He created it to be used in the same way represented in the beginning. Time is to be used for creating.
In 2 Chronicles 29 through chapter 31, Hezekiah reopened and cleansed the temple in Jerusalem and he invited all Israel to come to Zion, to the holy temple, to worship God.
After rededicating themselves to serving God, the people purged the land of idols.
Oh, that we would have the courage just to purge our hearts !
To purge ourselves of prejudice ,and the poison of pride !... To empty ourselves of ourselves and be filled with God and his Spirit!...
For the sake of peace , for the sake of unity , for the sake of saving the lost – what would you be willing to do?
Most of us are racist and don't even realize it , or prejudiced and don't see it , divisive or sectarian and deny it. In our rejecting to face our flaws and fix them , we reject the very Gospel that saved us!
How can we "be all things to all men" when we esteem ourselves better than others? How can we "live peaceably with ALL" when we look for bridges to burn , rather than mend? How can we possibly "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel" when we have made our world ,a small familiar circle?
If the Gospel confirmed anything other than the obvious , it confirmed that there is NO PLACE for racism , or prejudice in the Lord's body , mission, and purpose... NONE.
What have we become?
What have we let the media , politics, and FEAR do to us ,church?
Titus 2:11-12 " For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for ALL PEOPLE, 12 training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age ..."
Come join us tomorrow , and lets "Purge Our Temples" and give thanks to our mighty God that his salvation is for ALL people , EVERYWHERE.
Come as you are , leave changed...
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
II Corinthians 1:2-4 NKJV
In the Bible, the mustard seed is used by Jesus in the parable of the Mustard Seed as a model for the kingdom of God which initially starts small but grows to be the biggest of all garden plants. Faith is also spoken about in the context of a mustard seed

The command to "watch" is written about 24 times in the New Testament. What does it mean, why is God concerned that we watch and what happens if we don't?
This is a study of Jesus being put on like a garment we are to ware, and we are to also put on the armor of light which is basically the same as putting on Jesus.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
2. Christians need to know the Bible well. (2 Tim. 3:15-17)
May need it at any moment — to help self and others. (1
Tim. 4:16; 2 Tim 2:2)
Means much study and meditation. (cf. Ps. 1:2; Acts
17:11)
Public and private study
Before we need it. (Dig your well before your thirsty)
Christians are helped through many difficulties by
being able to say: “Then I remembered the word of the
Lord”
3. Remembering Can Constrain us (Acts 11:16-17).
We may be reluctant because of apathy, fear,
prejudice or discouragement.
But, remembering the word of the Lord can
compel us to act.
When We Should Do Our Duty
4. Remembering Can Contain Us (Psa. 119:11)…
Jesus said “it is written” (Matt. 4; Lk. 4).
“Divers (various, manifold) temptations” (Jas. 1:2)
To quit (Gal. 6:9).
To get too involved in this life (2 Tim. 2:4).
To compromise a little with false brethren (Gal. 2:5,6)
When We Are Tempted
5. Remembering Can Confirm it (Jude 16-19).
When we hear the wisdom of this world.
By the flattery of false teachers.
By the scoffers of our simple faith.
When Our Faith Is Challenged
6. Remembering Can Conform Us to Truth.
(Jas. 1:23-25)
Rather than conforming to the world (cf.
Rom. 12:2)
Transformed into His image.
When We Daily Face the World
7. Remembering Can Convict Us (Luke
22:61-62).
May sin under pressure.
Remembering can turn us around
When We Have Sinned
8. Remembering Can Comfort Us (Rom. 15:4)
When bereaved (1 Thess. 4:13)
When we or loved ones are sick (Jas. 5:13ff).
When mistreated (Matt. 5:10-12)
When our world “falls apart.” (Job).
When We Are Discouraged
9. We need to study now - before we actually need to apply it.
May be too late to start searching when really need it.
May not be able to call and ask someone in midst of a temptation.
We need to study and learn not so we can remember then.
Will probably remember more than we think if we really need it.
But, will not remember what we have never known.
Conclusion:
