This document provides instructions for an assignment where students are asked to select a concept from a list of geography terms, find a recent news article within the past 6 months related to their selected concept that includes a map, cite the news source in APA format including a link, and summarize what they learned from the article and how it relates to their selected concept. Students are asked to post their summary directly into the discussion thread. The document emphasizes including a definition of the selected concept and embedding the map from the article in their initial post.

Please select a concept from the following list:
Central Bussines District (CBD), Density gradient, Filtering,
Food desert, Gentrification, Informal settlement, Megalopolis,
Rush hour, Sprawl, air pollution, Acid precipitation,
Biodiversity, Carbon capture and storage (CCS), Fossil fuel,
Geothermal energy, Greenhouse effect, Fracking, Photovoltaic
cell, Renewable resource, Landfill, Sustainable development.

1) Find a current event in the news that relates directly to your
selected topic within a geography framework. the news article
cannot be older than 6 months and it MUST show a map.
2) Cite your news source in APA format, including a link to the
article.
3) Summarize what you learned from the news article and how
it relates to your selected topic.
4) Post this summary directly into the discussion thread using
copy and paste.
