This document discusses the mitotic phase of the cell cycle. During mitotic phase, which follows interphase, two key processes occur simultaneously: karyokinesis, where the nucleus divides and chromosomes separate into two equal groups; and cytokinesis, where the cell cytoplasm divides into two halves. After mitotic phase, the cell may either re-enter interphase to repeat the cell cycle or enter G0 phase to arrest the cell cycle and potentially differentiate.
