 I would have to say that the learning theories research had the most impact on me this
month. As a Humanist it is sometimes easy to forget that there are assets in other theories that
when coupled with each other can provide a more learning experience.
 With all the research that I did in this course my belief is that “Standardized Curriculum”
really is not giving students, at least in Kindergarten thru 12th grade, the right tool set, in order
for them to graduate and find gainful and productive employment without having to go to some
form of college or trade school. I strongly believe that teaching should have a basic outline,
however each learner should really have the opportunity to customize their learning plan for
what will give them the most advantage in their learning experience.
 I also find myself looking at a teaching differently now. I see myself as more a guide, aiding
learners to achieve the best that is with in themselves.

 Without a doubt the ability to use captivate. I honestly did not have a clue that
such programs existed. After working through the tutorials on linda,com it is
actually easier to use than I had first thought of.
 I have written course work before and really enjoyed it, I have actually found
that writing test and quizzes well, is one of my strongest skills.
 After learning how to use and incorporate learning material in captivate.
 I have a much greater understanding in how important it is to make sure that all
the components are in place, in order to have a successful interface that will give
learners the abilities to learn with little supervision and at their own pace.

 Work on better time management.
 I did not realize when I started this course at how much time is really required to have a successful learning
experience.
 I would also start working on the Group assignment in the first week. Forming my group so that we had the
time to really work together as a team and not feel like we were rushing to complete it.
 Start working on the storyboards for the About Me and Reflection video as soon as possible since all the
assignments are open and I had the ability to work ahead and I should have. That is something I defiantly do very
different.
 Lastly, I would network with my classmates more and utilize that course’s student lounge discussion board.

 Time Management!
 Utilize the fact that all the assignments are open and incorporate a tool
such as Kanbanflow to help keep track of what is expected and deadline.
 There are a great deal of discussion boards in this course, so defiantly
make sure to pay close attention to what and when posts are due.
 Get a study buddy. Utilize the knowledge and experiences of you
follow learners, they will be your biggest assets.

 For my goal of becoming an online instructor I will use the knowledge I gained from the learning theories research to create better
curriculum that will give learners the ability to work at their own pace so they can retain as much of the information I am providing most
effectively.
 I believe having the skills to use captivate as an interactive tool will be essential to creating and tracking the information I am trying to
teach learns. With this tool I can track what information is actually beneficial and what is not, thus giving me feedback on what is working
and what needs to be adjusted.
 Personally I feel very strongly that the “Standardized” curriculum is no longer really working in our country. One of the things that I
would like to help change is updating that. We have been in a technology revolution and our young people need to be able to have the right
skill set to be productive right out of high school.
 As a grandmother of little children, I feel very strongly that giving them the basic skills and foundation for learning starts long before
they actually begin school and this is vital.
 One of my goals is to create interactive set of books; games and lessons that will help create a foundation for learning in this age of
technology.
 My target audiences for this are toddlers and preschool age children. The brain absorbs the majority of its knowledge in the first 3 year
of life and capitalizing on that will only give our children a better advantage in future learning.
 I believe the knowledge I have obtained from this course will help do just that.
