Reference letter for RANGANATH NAGARAJU
With this letter I give my full support to Ranganath Nagaraju for his application as a PhD Student at the University of
Twente in Netherlands.
I met Mr Ranganath Nagaraju as a student of one of my lectures (“Micromechanics”, taught to students enrolled in the
school of Material Engineering at Politecnico di Milano). He soon showed himself as a talented and highly motivated
student. He followed my course as more than a diligent student exhibiting his strong will to learn new methods and new
approaches in different engineering fields.
I had many meetings with him during the Academic Year during which he showed a substantial capability to organize
his work and to propose research activities in a proactive way. He his very intelligent in proposing smart solutions to
engineering problems from different stand points, he is strong in theoretical approaches as well as in practical
engineering problems by putting the right emphasis on technology and cost-effective solutions.
During my course he had the opportunity to study many different aspects of mechanics at the small scale with particular
reference to experimental methods like micro and nanoindentation, micro-tensile testing as well as theoretical
approaches to the mechanical behaviour of micro and nano-composite materials.
His previous working experience was also a very good starting point for his education and his approach to the study of
engineering disciplines.
In conclusion I believe that on the basis of our standards Mr Ranganath Nagaraju’s capability are extremely good, so I
would have no doubt in considering his application for the appointment.
Best regards
