It is with pleasure that I commend to you Owen Smith for his achievements at the Faculty of
Information Sciences and Engineering. Owen has been involved with the Faculty for 5 years
as a student, a tutor and an IT Officer.
During his time with us, Owen has been a highly motivated and an outstanding student. He
has won the Dean’s excellence award four times, placed 3rd in the Information Technology
Project (a final year capstone unit on IT/Software engineering), and received several other
prestigious awards including the PricewaterhouseCoopers Exceptional Performance Award
for Bachelor of Business Informatics.
Owen has maintained an excellent rapport with the members of the Faculty, was always very
enthusiastic and committed (for example, he contributed through his leadership to making our
Faculty’s Open Days demonstrations and each year it was a great success). He has also
demonstrated great potential in the work he has done for the Faculty generally.
I recommend him highly.
