Sylvia O'Brien has worked at ModusLink for over 16 years, holding several roles in quality control and new product introduction. She has proven herself a reliable, hard-working employee with excellent communication skills. Sylvia is responsible for verifying customer bills of materials and ensuring their timely loading into the company's systems. She also coordinates with suppliers and customers to meet product launch deadlines. Unfortunately, Sylvia is leaving ModusLink due to restructuring from economic impacts.

Sylvia O’Brien has been a trusted and responsible employee of ModusLink for over 16 years and I have no hesitation in
recommending her as a candidate for employment.
Sylvia joined the Quality group over 7 years ago was employed as Document controller to cover maternity leave. In this
role Sylvia was responsible for and to ensure all current revisions of procedures, process flows, specs, drawings etc. were
stored on the network drive and relevant personnel notified of changes and revision. She was also responsible for
maintenance of the Doc Control log and documentation indexes on the network drive. During an ISO audit Sylvia would
have to engage with the auditor to answers questions, provide documentation and procedures.
Sylvia then applied for a position in the NPI group (New products Introduction) as NPI Co-ordinator again this was to
cover maternity leave. She and was successful in her application. In her role as NPI Co-ordinator, Sylvia was responsible
for ensuring the customers BOM’s were verified and loaded into the company’s ERP system in a timely manner.
Another position as NPI Co-ordinator arose with the NPI group to cover maternity leave for one of our key customers.
Sylvia again applied and was successful in her application. In this role Sylvia was responsible for ensuring the customers
BOM’s were verified and loaded into the company’s ERP system in a timely manner. She was also responsible for
handing off component specs to our suppliers. As part of this role Sylvia was also responsible for proofing components
before the supplier could proceed, this process required great attention to detail.
On completion of the above maternity cover Sylvia applied for permanent position as NPI Co-ordinator and was
successful in her application. Again in this role she was responsible for ensuring the customers BOM’s were verified and
loaded into the company’s ERP system in a timely manner. As part of this role Sylvia liaised regularly with the customer
to ensure product launches and release dates were on target. She also understands the customer and their expectation
and had a great relationship with them.
Sylvia has excellent communication skills. She is dependable, reliable and hard-working. She works well as part of a team
however at the same time can work independently. She is computer literate and has vast knowledge of ERP systems.
Unfortunately Sylvia leaves ModusLink through no fault of her own but due to the company’s restructuring due to the
effects of the economic downturn on our business.
