Red Tacton is a new human area networking technology that uses the human body's surface as a high-speed network transmission path. It works by using a photonic electric field sensor to detect the minute electric field emitted on the human body's surface, allowing for duplex communication at speeds up to 10 mbps. Red Tacton transmissions are initiated through physical contact with transceivers and work through natural physical movements, forming a transmission path between the body and device. It is technically distinct from wireless and infrared technologies.
