No matter what the size of the project is, whether it’s a G+1 individual home or a multi storied apartment project, a huge waste of resources go unnoticed or are often taken as an inevitable spill over. Well, this can be looked into and by making simple alterations to the project; you would be amazed how much you are saving at the end of your project. Not only are you saving on cost and energy, but also you are simultaneously ensuring optimum resource utilization. Avoiding wastage at construction project sites will be so achievable and smooth if you follow some of the best practices articulated here.

Each household produces 681kg of waste per year. South Australia’s landfills create 60 million cubic metres of landfill airspace. The state is one of the best at recycling and manages to divert 65% recyclable from the landfill. One of the major challenge for recycling is competing with landfills. Cheap landfill costs, disposal contract and global warming are the current crisis issues for waste in South Australia.

This transition where many essentials become less abundant and more expensive won’t be accepted as permanent by many; however, those that make the transition swiftly will quickly move to many areas of recycling. These will be some of the business survivors I have referred to in earlier articles. One of the biggest recycling movements will be deconstruction and using recovered materials for different uses.

Asphalt Shingle Maintenance Services
Most roofing forums I belong to focus on the primary task at hand. "Getting the Job Done" .
When it comes to residential roofing, over 85% of all roofing work involves re-shingling asphalt roofs. Over 100 million squares of asphalt roofing is replaced by roofing contractors annually .
WHY? Because asphalt shingles are the MOST EXPOSED and LEAST MAINTAINED element of the entire building envelope with the SHORTEST LIFE EXPECTANCY.
Is there a solution? Yeah! Its called MAINTENANCE. Maintenance of residential asphalt roofs is without doubt the Next Billion S Market Frontier.
Why do I say that ? Because there are an estimated 85 million residential housing units with asphalt shingle roofs in USA representing 1.83 billion ‘Maintainable Roofing Squares’.
In layman's language that's 1.8 trillion square feet...way too may zero's to wrap your head around . Less than 5% of residential asphalt shingle roofs are regularly maintained.
If we could persuade just 5% of USA homeowners to opt in to doing annual or bi-annual roof maintenance - our "available market" would 4,250,000 residential units . Assume the average size of a shingle roof is 20 Squares, that's 85 Million Squares of Market Opportunity staring us in the face in tough economic times.
Our company is currently working with the National Research Council of Canada later to validate a patented product that will help extend the life of asphalt shingles and prevent curling , cracking and granule loss. Once we accomplish this, we hope to establish a US wide network of independent contractors to get out there and take care of business.
Right now we have an incredible investment opportunity for the right business partner.

UNDERSTANDING WHAT GREEN WASHING IS!.pdfJulietMogola
Many companies today use green washing to lure the public into thinking they are conserving the environment but in real sense they are doing more harm. There have been such several cases from very big companies here in Kenya and also globally. This ranges from various sectors from manufacturing and goes to consumer products. Educating people on greenwashing will enable people to make better choices based on their analysis and not on what they see on marketing sites.
"Understanding the Carbon Cycle: Processes, Human Impacts, and Strategies for...MMariSelvam4
The carbon cycle is a critical component of Earth's environmental system, governing the movement and transformation of carbon through various reservoirs, including the atmosphere, oceans, soil, and living organisms. This complex cycle involves several key processes such as photosynthesis, respiration, decomposition, and carbon sequestration, each contributing to the regulation of carbon levels on the planet.
Human activities, particularly fossil fuel combustion and deforestation, have significantly altered the natural carbon cycle, leading to increased atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations and driving climate change. Understanding the intricacies of the carbon cycle is essential for assessing the impacts of these changes and developing effective mitigation strategies.
By studying the carbon cycle, scientists can identify carbon sources and sinks, measure carbon fluxes, and predict future trends. This knowledge is crucial for crafting policies aimed at reducing carbon emissions, enhancing carbon storage, and promoting sustainable practices. The carbon cycle's interplay with climate systems, ecosystems, and human activities underscores its importance in maintaining a stable and healthy planet.
In-depth exploration of the carbon cycle reveals the delicate balance required to sustain life and the urgent need to address anthropogenic influences. Through research, education, and policy, we can work towards restoring equilibrium in the carbon cycle and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.
Characterization and the Kinetics of drying at the drying oven and with micro...Open Access Research Paper
The objective of this work is to contribute to valorization de Nephelium lappaceum by the characterization of kinetics of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum. The seeds were dehydrated until a constant mass respectively in a drying oven and a microwawe oven. The temperatures and the powers of drying are respectively: 50, 60 and 70°C and 140, 280 and 420 W. The results show that the curves of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum do not present a phase of constant kinetics. The coefficients of diffusion vary between 2.09.10-8 to 2.98. 10-8m-2/s in the interval of 50°C at 70°C and between 4.83×10-07 at 9.04×10-07 m-8/s for the powers going of 140 W with 420 W the relation between Arrhenius and a value of energy of activation of 16.49 kJ. mol-1 expressed the effect of the temperature on effective diffusivity.

What is asphalt shingle recycling?
It is becoming increasingly common for shingles to be recycled versus being sent to a landfill. Shingle
recycling is the process of taking asphalt shingles from roof tear-offs and collecting them for reuse into
another products, ensuring the material does not end up in landfill.
What are the benefits of asphalt shingle recycling?
Shingle recycling is economically viable, convenient where available, and saves valuable resources from
being sent to a landfill. Recycled asphalt shingles are most commonly used in pavement, which offsets
the need for new asphalt and aggregate, and additional uses are being explored. Asphalt shingle
recycling can create jobs for recycling locations and reduce costs for paving. Recycling shingles also
allows homeowners to make a positive environmental contribution.
In what products are recycled asphalt shingles used?
The #1 use of recycled shingles is to make roads! Ground-up shingles are typically added to the pavement
and in many cases may actually improve the quality. Other uses include using the material as an input to
make roofing products or road maintenance products, or to produce energy.
How can I find an asphalt shingle recycler nearby?
Shingle recycling is available in most major markets in the United States and in some locations in
Canada, and new sites continue to open. There are multiple resources for finding a recycler. You can
check online at www.shinglerecycling.org and www.earth911.com, or you can call 1-800-CLEANUP. You
can also use local resources for finding businesses or conduct internet searches.
Is every asphalt shingle recycler listed on ShingleRecycling.org or Earth911.com?
No! If you know of a location that isn’t listed, please let ShingleRecycling.org or Earth911.com know by
emailing info@shinglerecycling.org or info@earth911.com.
What if I can’t find a recycler nearby?
Don’t give up! Send an email to info@shinglerecycling.org or info@earth911.com.
Do roofing contractors or do-it-yourselfers have to separate material as it is removed from the roof?
Call ahead to your recycler before your first drop to determine what your recycler allows. Each recycler
has specific rules regarding requirements for separating shingles from other materials.
What about nails?
You don’t have to pull out nails — they are separated by powerful magnets on the shingle grinder, and
get recycled too!

Recycling FAQs
2. How much does recycling cost?
Recycling cost varies. It is almost always cheaper than landfilling and can often be made even less
expensive if you separate materials properly. In some cases recycling is free.
How much does a typical roof weigh?
Most roofs weigh 3-4 tons.
I don’t want a large roll-off container in my yard. Will recyclers work with dump trailers?
Most recyclers are pretty flexible — give them a call.
