Recruitment
Recruitment includes those practices and activities carried on by the organization
with the primary purpose of identifying and attracting potential employees.

• External recruitment is the assessment of an available pool of job candidates,
other than existing staff, to see if there are any sufficiently skilled or qualified
to fill and perform existing job vacancies.
• It is the process of searching outside of the current employee pool to fill open
positions in an organization.

Advantages
• Outside people bring in new ideas
• Larger pool of workers from which to find the best candidate
• People have a wider range of experience
• Rejuvenates organization
Disadvantages
• Longer process
• More expensive process due to advertising and interviews
required
• Selection process may not be effective enough to reveal the best
candidate

Recommendation
• External recruitment is a beneficial source in the employee recruitment
process
• Help increase the organization’s popularity on the job market which may
eventually lead to further expansion of the business
• Help defines the rights requirement for a particular post.
• It can contribute new and innovative ideas and approaches towards
organization growth.
