and is the largest sunglasses brand, according to Euromonitor

13. The term ‘decimation’ originated in the era of the Roman legions
where army units that mutinied or under-performed in combat
could be singled out for group punishment. A body of troops
would be divided into sections of 10 men where one soldier from
each group would be chosen at random and be beaten to death by
his comrades. The sentences were carried out immediately
regardless of the victim’s rank or involvement in the
transgression. The method provided a pragmatic way to give out
mass punishment without wasting the army’s assets. Why has this
term seen a surge in popularity recently?

14. A self-described ‘history nut’ who wanted to be a history teacher, when
he grew up, X was talking to a 21 year old who thought the world was
an unfixable mess, and confessed he felt the same way at that age. The
person waved him off by saying that X had it easy since nothing
significant happened in the 50’s anyway.
This became the inspiration behind X’s most popular song and it was
quickly picked up in schools by history teachers as a tool to engage kids
to study the subject when it was released. X admits he has a hard time
remembering all the words when he performs the song in a concert due
to the rapid-fire lyrics. The song has inspired many fan versions of it
with updated lyrics and remains relevant as ever, even though X has
revealed he has no intention to create a sequel.

16. The movie was supposed to be an adaptation of its predecessor
with a contemporary city setting and had thus gained a lot of
attention from media pre-release.
A problem while creating the sequel was that one of the crucial
characters had been killed, and some of the actual cast like Amjad
Khan had passed away in the real world. To fix this, a special role
was weaved in for Jackie Chan, owing to the runaway success of
Rush Hour at the time, but was later removed.
The film also went through a huge copyright infringement lawsuit
for deliberately mentioning and using characters of the original
film as it wasn’t a legitimate sequel. Being the director’s second
flop of 2007 after ‘Nishabd’, the movie cemented its place as a cult
classic of bollywood.
