thGAP - Transgenic Human Germline Alternatives Project, presents an evening of input lectures, discussions and a performative workshop on artistic interventions for future scenarios of human genetic and inheritable modifications.
To begin our lecturers, Marc Dusseiller aka "dusjagr" and Rodrigo Martin Iglesias, will give an overview of their transdisciplinary practices, including the history of hackteria, a global network for sharing knowledge to involve artists in hands-on and Do-It-With-Others (DIWO) working with the lifesciences, and reflections on future scenarios from the 8-bit computer games of the 80ies to current real-world endeavous of genetically modifiying the human species.

Persephone was the beautiful daughter of Zeus and Demeter. Hades abducted her when she was
picking flowers, and took her to be his queen of the Underworld.
Persephone's mother, Demeter, wandered the earth searching for her. Finally, she found Helios,
who described what happened. In her depression, Demeter's negligence stopped all growth on
earth. To restore order, Zeus sent Hermes to persuade Hades into releasing Persephone. Hades
eventually gave in, but gave Persephone a X, a food of the dead, which forever bound her to the
Underworld.

The Osiris myth is the most elaborate and influential story in ancient Egyptian mythology. One
version of the myth is in which Set (Osiris' brother) plotted the assassination of Osiris. Set fooled
Osiris into getting into a box, which Set then shut, sealed with lead, and threw into the Nile. Osiris'
wife, Isis, searched for his remains until she finally found him embedded in a tamarisk tree trunk.
She managed to remove the coffin and retrieve her husband's body.
Isis then used a spell to briefly revive Osiris so he could impregnate her. After embalming and
burying Osiris, Isis conceived and gave birth to their son, Horus. Thereafter Osiris lived on as the
god of the underworld. Because of his death and resurrection, Osiris was associated with an
yearly phenomenon in Egypt.

Orion was a giant and very handsome hunter, who hunted by night, and while he was on his
nocturnal hunting adventures, he was noticed and admired by Artemis, the goddess of the moon
and the hunt. As the affair continued, she would join him on his hunting jaunts, ignoring her lunar

When Zeus, Artemis’s father, learned of her negligence, he sent a giant scorpion Scorpius to sting
and kill Orion, who put up a good fight, but the scorpion still stung him, and the hunter died
instantly. That night, Artemis discovered Orion’s body and was filled with tremendous grief. She
lifted her lover’s body to the sky and transformed it into the constellation. As she looked back to
Earth, she saw the giant scorpion not far from where she found Orion. She dived at the scorpion,
grabbed it and flung it in the opposite direction from where she had placed Orion.

woodsmen, one of whom gets married, encouraging the others to seek partners. After a social

prank. In a fit of rage, he curses Samba will give birth to an iron bolt that will destroy his entire
race. As per the curse, Samba next day delivered an iron rod. The youth inform King Ugrasena
what has happened, who asks Samba to powder the iron bolt and cast it into the Prabhas sea.
Later this powder grew up on sea shore in the form of eraká grass. After some time a fight with
iron clubs made of this grass, broke out between the Yadavas, at a festival, who all killed each
other.”
A piece to the same iron bolt dropped down in the sea and was swallowed by a fish which was
caught by a hunter who took out the iron piece and applied it on the tip of his weapon. How did
this contribute to the fulfillment of Gandhari’s curse?

disciple, Vayu. They went around the world in search of an ideal place.
They met Parasurama who lead them to a lush green spot with a beautiful lotus tank where they
felt the presence of Lord Siva. The installation was sanctioned.
