The document discusses Pastor Russell's consideration of dates parallel to Christ's first and second advents. Specifically, it examines dates from 29 AD to 70 AD and their parallel dates from 1874 to 1914/1918. Pastor Russell originally viewed 29 AD to 70 AD as a 40-year harvest period for Israel that paralleled 1874 to 1914 for Christendom's harvest. However, he later reconsidered, exploring dates of 33 AD, 36 AD, 73 AD, and their implications for 1878, 1881, and 1918. The document aims to define what the harvest period represents based on scriptural evidence.
The past is just that past! As Christians we have to now view ourselves as Christ views us! That is holy, sanctified, and justified. We are set apart in Christ and are happy to renounce our past for what we have in Christ and our future glory! We study in this lesson why we let go of our past.
Nehemiah corrected abuses in the temple where offerings had been misapplied, discouraging generosity and fervor among the people. He gathered those who had abandoned temple service and restored the proper collection and use of tithes, restoring confidence. God intends that tithes fully sustain the gospel ministry, including ordained ministers, their wives, Bible workers, and medical missionaries. Individuals have responsibility as God's stewards to support needs they discern, in addition to regular conference channels.
This document is a bulletin from the Rossville Church in Rossville, GA announcing their upcoming "Pure Heart Sunday" service on June 5th. It includes scripture passages from Romans 15 discussing Paul's mission to preach the gospel to those who had not heard. It discusses separating works done in one's own strength from works done through God's power. The bulletin also summarizes Paul's plans to visit Rome on his way to Spain to minister to believers and spread the gospel further.
Lessons from Pauls Missionary Journeys Arturo Elizararras and Gordon Ferguson...Disciples Today
1) Paul strengthened the churches he planted on his first missionary journey by encouraging them to continue in the faith and reporting on God's deeds. This helped connect the churches.
2) On his second journey, Paul communicated decisions from Jerusalem's leaders to obey, showed respect for other churches' cultures, and kept contact between churches.
3) Paul appealed to common practices between churches and promoted equality, mutual commitment and blessings when churches connected through giving and receiving help. This glorified God.
This document provides an overview of the Catholic Church's teachings on beatitude and the Beatitudes from the Catechism of the Catholic Church sections 1716-1738. It discusses how the Beatitudes fulfill God's promises to his people, order them to the Kingdom of Heaven rather than an earthly territory. It examines each of the individual Beatitudes and how they depict the nature of Jesus Christ and God's call to happiness. The Beatitudes respond to our natural desire for happiness and call us to purify our hearts and seek God above all else.
The document provides biographical details about Paul's life and ministry based on passages from Acts and Paul's letters. It describes Paul's Jewish background and education, his persecution of the early church, his conversion experience, and his missionary journeys establishing churches in major cities throughout the Roman world. The document also discusses Paul's methods, teachings, and conflicts with other groups as he helped formulate early Christian theology. It concludes with accounts of Paul's imprisonments and martyrdom in Rome under Nero.
Jesus cleansed the temple by driving out money changers and animal sellers. He was angered that the temple had been turned into a marketplace, violating its sacred purpose as a house of prayer. His actions fulfilled prophecies and established his authority. They also symbolized his mission to purify religion and society of worldly influences that distract from worshipping God.

This document discusses human freedom and salvation according to the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It states that God created humans as rational beings with free will to choose their actions. While freedom allows humans to shape their own lives, it is not unlimited and can lead to sin if not directed towards God. True freedom is found in serving what is good. Jesus redeemed humans from sin through his death on the cross. The Holy Spirit grants believers freedom and the grace of Christ does not rival human freedom but helps it grow.
Paul was a significant figure in the New Testament, responsible for about one third of its content. He underwent a conversion experience and became the apostle to the Gentiles, undertaking missionary journeys throughout Asia Minor and the Mediterranean region to spread Christianity. His letters provide primary sources about his theology and the issues facing early Christian communities. Scholars debate the authenticity of some letters attributed to Paul.

The document discusses the roots and historical development of Catholic sacraments and traditions. It explains that sacraments originated from informal practices in the early Church and were adapted from cultural rituals. Over time, sacraments became more formalized and standardized through edicts like the Council of Trent to ensure proper celebration. However, Vatican II encouraged a return to more meaningful, vernacular celebrations and appreciation of diverse rites while maintaining sacramental essence.

Lesson 13 in a series on the Sermon on the Mount. Adapted from a lesson with the same title by Chip Bell at www.Bible.org. Presented 1/6/13 at Palm Desert Church of Christ by Dale Wells.
This is a study of Jesus as a name that healed. Just speaking the name of Jesus could produce a miracle of healing as we see in this text. His name healed many in HIs day and it still does today.
The Church in Thyatira was a church under pressure. Many of the believers were blackballed from the trade guilds of Thyatira because they refused to participate in the pagan cult rituals which were infused in the guilds. It was also a church that was being split by the immoral influence of a false teacher Jesus calls Jezebel. Jesus commends the believers who stood firm and rebukes those who rejected biblical morality and embraced lawlessness. This sermon deals with false teachings like the hyper-grace movement which elevates grace to the point where morality no longer matters.
The document discusses the history and theology of the sacrament of Confirmation. It describes how the laying on of hands and anointing with chrism oil has traditionally been used to impart the gifts of the Holy Spirit and complete Christian initiation begun in baptism. The rite signifies consecration and imprints an indelible spiritual seal. Through confirmation, one receives the power to publicly profess faith in Christ and participate more fully in his mission.
The document discusses the sacrament of Confirmation in the Catholic tradition. It describes how Confirmation originated from the laying on of hands by the Apostles to impart the Holy Spirit to newly baptized Christians. Over time, an anointing with chrism oil was added to signify this gift of the Holy Spirit. The rite of Confirmation seals the baptismal grace through an anointing on the forehead by the bishop saying "Be sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit." Confirmation strengthens the common priesthood received in Baptism and empowers one to publicly profess faith in Christ.
1st and 2nd Thessalonians focus on Christ's second coming. Paul wrote these letters to the church in Thessalonica to encourage believers and instruct them to live holy lives as they awaited Christ's return. He reminds them that Christ's second appearance will be sudden, just as the first was to philosophers. Throughout the letters, Paul praises the church for their faith and instructs them on holy living, correcting any misunderstandings about Christ's second coming.
The church of christ is not a denominationJames Pharr
The document discusses why the church of Christ is not a denomination. It provides several reasons: 1) It has no denominational founder or origin, hierarchy, or headquarters. 2) It does not have a denominational creed or traditions it is bound by. 3) It does not have denominational names, forms of worship, or plans of salvation. The church of Christ considers itself the original New Testament church rather than a denomination.

This document is an article from The Intellectual Repository and New Jerusalem Magazine from January 1851. It discusses the spiritual meaning and significance of the gifts that the wise men brought to Jesus at his birth: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. It argues that these gifts represent the true worship of the Lord, which involves cultivating our natural states through faith, love, and practice of God's precepts. This spiritual cultivation establishes the foundation for our eternal life in heaven. The article encourages using the commemoration of Jesus' nativity to spiritually bring these gifts of worship to the Lord through regenerating our lives.
The document discusses the origins and evolution of the church. It begins by explaining that in the Greek scriptures, "church" translates to "ekklesia" meaning the called out ones. However, over time the understanding of church shifted from a gathering/movement to referring to a physical building under institutional control. The document then covers key figures like William Tyndale who translated ekklesia to congregation, emphasizing the people rather than place. It describes the church springing into existence on the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit empowered the disciples to spread the gospel. The church is defined as Jesus' called out people united by faith and purpose to spread his message to the world.
The city of Corinth was a large, diverse port city with a population of around 80,000-100,000 people from many different backgrounds. The church in Corinth was founded around AD 51 and met in the homes of wealthy members, though most were poor. Paul wrote the letter of 1st Corinthians to the church around AD 55 to address divisions within the church and issues like sexual immorality and civil litigation that members had written to him about.

Every student of the Bible who has any interest at all in prophecy has spent time trying to understand the 70 weeks of Daniel 9. Somehow we all sense that these verses have great significance in regard to the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
In understanding God's teachings in any part of the Bible, we know we have not arrived at a satisfactory conclusion until every phrase of the passage in question can be understood. In other words, while it may be readily possible to find a solution that aligns with a few of the key phrases in a passage, we can know that our conclusion is still possibily unsatisfactory if it does not harmonize with all the phrases of the passage.
This document introduces a volume that aims to show that God's plan for salvation has definite times and seasons appointed for its fulfillment based on scripture. It acknowledges mistakes in past interpretations but encourages further scriptural study of prophecy regarding the end times. The following chapters will examine prophecies about the harvest period we are currently in and major events centered in it, such as the time of trouble and Christ's second coming.
The document discusses God's appointed calendar of feasts for the Israelites that was given in Leviticus 23. It notes that these feasts were not just holidays or rituals, but times set by God to meet with His people and for specific spiritual transactions and blessings. The three main feasts discussed are Passover, Pentecost, and Tabernacles. The document suggests that understanding and following God's calendar of appointed times can help believers break out of cycles of destruction and into cycles of blessing in their lives.
This document outlines Swedenborg's scheme for his unfinished work "The Coronis, or Appendix to The True Christian Religion." Detailed explanation of 'The Balfour Century' Otis Armstrong
This document presents a timeline called "The Balfour Century" that spans from 1917 to 2017 based on Lord Balfour's 1917 letter establishing a Jewish homeland in Palestine. Key points of the timeline include:
- It is based on the concept of a biblical generation being 100 years, so the 100 years from the Balfour letter in 1917 until 2017 marks the end of "The Balfour Century."
- The timeline fits within a proposed 7,000 year framework for human history on earth from Adam to the end of the age, divided into periods of 6 days of 1,000 years each and a 7th day of 1,000 year rest.
- Other significant dates that are aligned with
The four horsemen of the apocalypse in Revelation symbolize four periods of tribulation for God's people from the ascension of Jesus until His second coming. The white horse represents the successful spread of the gospel in the first century. The red horse depicts Roman persecution of Christians from the 2nd to 4th centuries. The black horse symbolizes the spiritual darkness during the union of church and state from the 4th to 6th centuries. The pale horse's rider, Death, followed by Hades, represents the millions of martyrs from the 6th to 15th centuries during the Dark Ages.

This document summarizes the key points made in three chapters of the book "The Return of the Christ: Is it a Present Reality?".
1) The first chapter examines Jesus' promises of his return in Scripture and draws the picture of his return presented there. Jesus spoke extensively about his second coming, though the accounts were reported and compiled after the fact.
2) The second chapter argues that a fulfillment of Jesus' return is currently happening in the renewal of Christianity, as God deals in judgment, further revelation, and a deepened spiritual experience for followers.
3) The third chapter posits that Jesus' return is also being fulfilled in a worldwide redemption, not just an impact on Christendom
The document discusses the Christian belief in the Rapture, which refers to true believers being taken from Earth into heaven when Jesus returns. There are differing views on whether the Rapture will occur before, during, or after the Tribulation period. The key debate is around the timing of the Rapture in relation to the Tribulation, not what the Rapture is. Regardless of views on timing, the document emphasizes that eternal salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
Time, tradition and truth concerning the end of the worldZafnat Panea
This document discusses the feasts outlined in the book of Leviticus and how they point to future events related to the end of the world. It argues that the first four feasts, including Passover and Pentecost, were fulfilled by events in Jesus' life. The next two feasts involving the blowing of trumpets and the Day of Atonement point to the close of probation and Christ's ministry in the heavenly sanctuary. Acceptance of the first six feasts suggests the final two involving tabernacles and ingathering will occur after probation closes, before Christ's second coming. The document aims to show the importance of understanding Moses' writings as prophetic types fulfilled in the end times.
The document provides three summaries of the Ten Commandments from the Old Testament, New Testament, and as changed by the Papacy.
The Old Testament summary lists the Ten Commandments directly from Exodus 20:1-17. The New Testament summary also lists the Ten Commandments and provides supporting verses from the New Testament. The summary of the commandments as changed by the Papacy notes that the second commandment prohibiting idolatry is removed. It also shows that the Sabbath commandment was changed from the seventh day to Sunday observance, for which there is no scriptural authority.
The document provides information about Lent and the Easter Triduum. It discusses that Lent is the 40-day period before Easter focusing on self-examination and fasting. Ash Wednesday recognizes mortality and repentance through ashes. The number 40 symbolizes testing and renewal. The Easter Triduum commemorates Jesus' last supper, trial, crucifixion, time in the tomb, and resurrection. John 19 scripture discusses Jesus' pierced side and fulfillment of prophecy. The Easter Vigil celebrates Christ's resurrection as the high point of the year.
1. In 1848 Ellen White had a vision at a meeting in Dorchester, Massachusetts where Adventists were discussing the sealing message and the Sabbath.
2. In the vision, Ellen White described the Sabbath truth as arising like the sun, growing stronger over time until its rays were powerful and sanctifying.
3. She encouraged Joseph Bates to write about what he had seen and heard regarding the sealing message, promising the blessing of God would attend his efforts. This provided encouragement for the early Adventists to publish their beliefs.
The Jewish Calender's 240 Missing Years - Prophecy In The News Magazine - A...miscott57
The Gospel of John chapter 14 records Jesus' words to his disciples on the night before his crucifixion. Jesus tells them not to be troubled, and that he is going to prepare a place for them in his Father's house. He promises that he will come again to receive them, so that they may be with him. This answers the disciples' question about where Jesus was going. It also reveals Jesus' new commandment to love one another, as he prepares his followers for his impending death.
This document is a preface to Volume 4 of a series titled "The Great Controversy Between Christ and Satan." It summarizes that Volume 4 provides a history of the church in its warfare against Satan until its final redemption. It describes the triumph of God's people, the destruction of Satan and his followers, and the renewal of the earth. The preface encourages readers to appreciate the most thrilling closing chapters by reading all four volumes together, and expresses faith that God is providing needed light and instruction to his people in the last days through this work.
Prophecy Lost And Found - Prophecy In The News Magazine - March 2007miscott57
The document discusses how and why premillennial dispensationalism, the belief that Christ will return before establishing his kingdom on Earth, fell out of favor after the 1st century. It states that in the 2nd-3rd centuries church leaders began applying Old Testament prophecies about Israel to the church instead, thinking Israel no longer had a future. This view became dominant for over 17 centuries until John Nelson Darby revived premillennialism in the 19th century by concluding the early church fathers were wrong to spiritualize prophecies about Israel.
The document discusses reforms to the Catholic Church between 900-1200 CE and the launch of the Crusades. A spiritual revival in the 900s led the Church to restructure and build new places of worship. In 1093, the Byzantine emperor requested Western European assistance in regaining control of the Holy Land, launching the First Crusade. Over the next 300 years, multiple Crusades were initiated to retake lands under Muslim control. The Crusades both reflected and contributed to changes within the Church and its relationship with the Muslim world.
The document provides a history of the growth and expansion of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from its founding in 1830 to recent times. It details the early periods of growth in the eastern United States and the migrations to the Midwest and West. It then summarizes the massive immigration to Utah during the 1800s, establishing the Church in that region. Later sections outline the global missionary expansion from the 1900s onward and the establishment of temples worldwide.
The document discusses the 2300 day prophecy in Daniel 8:14. It provides historical and biblical context to identify the starting point of the prophecy in 457 BC and its fulfillment in 1844. Key details include: the 70 week prophecy concluding in AD 34, the 2300 days representing 2300 years until the heavenly sanctuary is cleansed, and the cleansing occurring on the Day of Atonement in 1844. Jesus is identified as the sole high priest, and the heavenly sanctuary as the true tabernacle.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

The 40 years from AD29 to AD70 represents Israel's
harvest… the reaping of wheat from the chaff.

representing Christendom’s harvest… the reaping of
wheat from the tares.

• It is concerning the Harvest time of this Gospel Age that I address you on
this occasion, believing that this entire Harvest period, according to the
Scriptures, is to be forty years long, and that we entered it in 1878, and
that consequently it will close with 1918. I desire to point out to you that
the special trials and difficulties and testing of faith and obedience
appropriate to the complete separation of the wheat from the tares is
upon Christendom now—has been upon us as a "thief in the night" for
some years.

13. A closer look at 73AD/1918
AD73/1918
• AD73: 3 ½ years after the fall of the Temple in Jerusalem, 15,000
Roman troops breach the walls of Masada, the last Jewish
stronghold against Roman invasion. 960 Jews dead. The end of
Jewish polity.
• 1918: 3 ½ years after WW1 begins, the last battle takes place
ending Christendom and its croaking claims of “Divine Right”. The
end of the nominal system… Christendom (Babylon).

18. Defining the Harvest
From Scripture
Mat_3:12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor,
and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with
unquenchable fire.
Rev_14:15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying out with a loud
voice to Him who sat on the cloud, "Put in your sickle and reap, because the
hour to reap has come, because the harvest of the earth is ripe."
Mat_13:30 'Allow both to grow together until the harvest; and in the time of
the harvest I will say to the reapers, "First gather up the tares and bind them in
bundles to burn them up; but gather the wheat into my barn.
Joh_4:35 "Do you not say, 'There are yet four months, and then comes the
harvest'? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes, and look on the fields, that they
are white for harvest.

19. Vol III page 121
THE careful student will have observed that the period designated "The Time
of the End" is very appropriately named, since not only does the Gospel age
close in it, but in it, also, all prophecies relating to the close of this age
terminate, reaching their fulfilments. The same class of readers will have
noticed, too, the special importance of the last 40 of those 115 years (1874-
1914), called "The End" or "Harvest."
This brief period is the most momentous and eventful period of the entire
age; for in it all the fruitage of the age must be gathered and disposed of, and
the field, which is the world (Mat_13:38), must be cleared, plowed and
prepared for another sowing and reaping time--the Millennial age. The
importance of the events of this harvest period can scarcely be
overestimated; and yet the world will not be aware of it, until its potent
though unrecognized agencies have accomplished their appointed work.
Indeed, it is well to remember that this is not a harvesting of the whole
world, but of the Christian Church; and it affects not Mohammedans,
Brahmins, Buddhists, etc., but only the true Church of Christ, and such as
are more or less associated with it--"Christendom."

22. Defining The Harvest
R5950 1916: THE HARVEST IS NOT ENDED.
At first we were inclined to surmise that the Harvest proper
had closed in October, 1914, and that the work since going on
was a gleaning work; but the facts seem not to bear this out.
The progress of the work and the numbers who are being
brought to a knowledge of the Truth and separated to the
Lord are far too great to be styled a gleaning. Evidently it is a
part of the regular Harvest.
…Similarly, we may expect that quite a good many will yet be
gathered to the Heavenly Garner, and we know of no time-
limit here. Incidentally we remark that some historians put
the end of the Jewish Time of Trouble as April A. D. 73, which
would correspond to April 1918.

23. What have we learned
about the Harvest?
.The Harvest Parallels lead to the destruction of the
Nominal System, not to the completion of the Church
The harvest goes grandly on, which Pastor Russell
references new consecrations as his evidence.
Vol II preface 1916
Our mistake was evidently not in respect to the ending of the
Times of the Gentiles; we drew a false conclusion, however, not
authorized by the Word of the Lord. We saw in the Bible certain
parallels between the Jewish Age and the Gospel Age. We
should have noted that these parallels follow the nominal
systems to destruction in both cases, and do not indicate the
time of the glorification of the New Creation.

Editor's Notes
As Pastor Russell began putting the events of Christs return into chronological order, he recognized that we have scriptural documentation from Christ's first advent that parallels with the second advent. These parallels are exact, and in that "exactness" they provided Pastor Russell a chronological expectation of what was yet future to him regarding the harvest period. As we begin this discourse, let’s consider our Pastors long held expectations and teachings.
Let’s start with Christ's first advent. We will examine the following dates: AD29, AD33, AD36, and AD70. Each of these dates have a corresponding (parallel) date at Christ's 2nd advent. These 2nd advent dates are 1874, 1878, 1881, and 1914. Now let's pair up these dates to their corresponding parallel dates.
AD29 with1874… the beginning of the harvest, AD33 with1878, AD36 with1881, AD70 with1914… the harvest ends with the completion of the Church. Pastor Russell was certain that these dates parallel exactly. 40 years from start to finish. The 40 years of both advents leading to the completion of the harvest… completion of the Church, that wheat having been gathered into the heavenly garner.
READ SLIDE. Quotes from Pastor Russell.
READ SLIDE. R123. As Jesus gave up the Nominal church at the close of his 3-1/2 years ministry because they "knew not the time of their visitation, so here too, at the parallel point of time, 1878, we believe the Nominal church to have been given up, and the "spewing out of His mouth" [`Rev_3:1-22`] to have begun. As the Jewish house was shown some special favor for 3-1/2 years, the latter half of their covenant week so we expect some favor to continue with the Nominal Gospel church for 3-1/2 years, or until the autumn of 1881. As with the Jew, a period of 33 years of trouble followed these 7 years of favor, so we understand there will be upon christendom, so called, a period of 33 years of trouble --making with the preceding 7 years the 40 years of trouble or "Day of wrath" ending with the times of the Gentiles in 1914, when the kingdom of God [soon to be set up or exalted to power] will have broken in pieces and consumed all earthly kingdoms.
READ SLIDE. Quotes from Pastor Russell
In the next few pages, we will clarify just exactly what Pastor Russell expected as a result of the Parallels, and which expectations if any, were not realized.
The 40 year harvest of nominal Israel began in AD33 at Pentecost. Before that there was no garner yet available for the wheat to be gathered. The harvest ended in AD 73, with the final battle of Jewish resistance.
The 40 year harvest of nominal Christendom began in 1878. The harvest ended in 1918. Pastor Russell died before he saw the fulfillment of his 1918 date. On that very date, WWI ended. All kings of Christendom were either killed, dethroned or became servants to constitutional governments. Christendom, that Church and State union called the beast, came to a dramatic end.
The first half of this presentation related to dates and numbers. Shake your heads, pour yourselves some coffee. As we continue this discourse on the harvest, it will be from an approach that is less numerical and more conceptual.
As we discuss the “harvest”, there are lots of opinions. Before we attempt to define the harvest, lets have a brief discussion regarding the Gospel Age. After all, the harvest is the harvest of the gospel age. But in order to keep our discussion orderly, let’s first define what we mean by the term “Gospel Age.” This term is not found in scripture… in fact it is not found much anywhere except in Br Russell’s writings. Most controversy on this subject comes from the brethren’s differing definitions… Therefore when asked: “Has the Gospel Age Ended” it leads to confusion. If one’s definition of the Gospel Age is the period of time in which there are still some running for the crown, then “NO”, the gospel age has not ended. If one’s definition of Gospel Age is that period of time in which the wheat and tares grew side by side, and that nominal system was used as a golden cup in God’s hand, then “YES” the Gospel Age is ended. Instead of arguing IF it has ended, we should discuss WHAT SPECIFICALLY has ended, and what hasn’t.
We see here that Br Russell has associated the harvest with the end of the nominal system, where both wheat and tares grew side by side. IF our definition of the GOSPEL AGE is “that nominal system”, then we can say with boldness that the Harvest brought us up to the end of the Gospel Age. But we see too, that Br Russell stated the world would not even be aware of the harvest having come to an end.
Churchianity continues to teach it’s error, and the world hasn’t even noticed that it was spewed out from God’s mouth. While we expect the world to be oblivious to Christ’s reign, even brethren have suggested that as long as there are churches teaching error, the nominal system is not destroyed. But let’s remember the exactness of the harvest parallel. Today, Jewish Synagogues continue to teach error along side of churchianity. Would these same brethren refusing to see the destruction of Christendom, also argue that the Jewish nominal system still exists? These continue only as human organizations, void of any special covenant.
When we see interest in churchianity faltering, it is an expected result, considering the thousands of years in which those claiming the title of “Christian”, having misused the trust given to them by the people. Not to mention the persecution of those who dared to question the Churches authority. God’s wrath targeted that corrupt nominal system. Even now, after the nominal system has been spewed out, the people have little or no interest in churchianity. We don’t expect there will be any future interest until Christ applies his ransom, and the resurrection of ancient worthies bring blessings so grand that they can not be ignored.
For the purpose of understanding the timing of the Harvest, we show the end of the Gospel Age as 1918. However we recognize that there is a period of time after the destruction of the nominal system but before the completion of the Church, which could still be considered a part of the Gospel Age. We are currently in that period.
While Pastor Russell seems to equate the date of 1918 as the end of the harvest, he recognizes the NEW consecrations are the focus here. Since the harvest ending in 1918 is in fact the harvest of the wheat and tares, bringing the destruction of that nominal system, these new consecrations… regular since 1881, are replacements for those who have since lost their crowns.
