As UCD module co-ordinator of the Research Papers 1 and 2 modules, I wish to
welcome you to these modules. This is a series of project-based modules completed
the next nine months and provides you with an opportunity to undertake a small
piece of research. Research Papers 1 and 2 provide you with an insight into the

Trauma Health Problem - Instructional Design
This document outlines the learning objectives, content, strategies, and evaluation for a course on trauma health problems. The objectives are for graduates to be able to write an overview on trauma as a health problem, manage any patient with a trauma disorder through establishing rapport, diagnosis, treatment, and referrals. Graduates should also be able to discuss clinical, psychological, ethical, and legal issues of trauma disorders and conduct public health education, research, and community planning on trauma health problems. Purpose
This project is an in depth investigation of a health condition. It will allow for the expansion of knowledge and the
ability to generalize larger concepts to a variety of health conditions.
Course outcomes: This assignment enables the student to meet the following course outcomes:
1. Explain the pathophysiologic processes of select health conditions. (PO 1)
2. Predict clinical manifestations and complications of select disease processes. (PO 1, 8)
3. Correlate lifestyle, environmental, and other influences with changes in levels of wellness. (PO 1, 7)

Preparing the assignment
Follow these guidelines when completing this assignment. Speak with your faculty member if you have questions.
1) Select a disease process that interests you.
2) Obtain approval of the selected disease process from the course faculty.
a. Faculty will share how to submit your topic choice for approval.
3) Write a 2‐3 page paper (excluding title and reference pages).
4) Include the following sections about the selected disease process (detailed criteria listed below and in the Grading
Rubric).

It summarizes that 58 students enrolled in the course but 9 withdrew, with 33 submitting portfolios on time and 5 receiving extensions. Feedback was positive, with most students finding the guided readings and briefings useful and the group discussions less so. Suggested improvements included reducing the workload, increasing time between activities, and making buddy group discussions confidential. Overall the feedback was positive and many students had ideas for applying what they learned.

The document discusses the concept and development of the information specialist role known as the "informationist". It began in 2000 with the goal of having specialists that can provide synthesized evidence to clinicians in a timely manner. The role requires both clinical and information retrieval training. It was further developed through task forces and conferences in the early 2000s. Challenges of Experienced Nurses in a Full-Time Online RN-BS Nurs
This document summarizes Diana Goldammer's doctoral study which evaluated the challenges experienced by nurses in Local University's online RN-BS nursing program. The study found that while students preferred the online format, they faced challenges with time management, cost of the program, learning the learning management system, group projects, and study skills. Based on these findings, Goldammer developed an orientation program for the nursing program to help students address these challenges and improve completion rates, thereby helping more nurses obtain bachelor's degrees as recommended by the Institute of Medicine.

2 nursing process
This document outlines the nursing process, which is a systematic problem-solving method used by nurses to identify and meet patients' healthcare needs. The five main steps of the nursing process are: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Assessment involves collecting patient data through health histories, physical exams, and other methods. Diagnosis identifies actual or potential health problems. Planning establishes goals and develops care plans. Implementation carries out the care plans. Evaluation assesses whether goals were met and identifies areas for improvement.
