key to success. This can either be in theworkplace or in our day to day lives and can be in
any form ranging from verbal to writtencommunication. Despite the knowledge, many
organizations and projects suffer from the effectsof poor or lack of communication which
leads to misunderstandings, conflict, chaos and soforth. Lack of communication effective is
manifested in terms of low morale, missed deadlines,lack of teamwork, poor performance,
2. and eventually job abandonment within an organization.This paper will address the
concerns and issues that are affected by ineffective communicationand focus on ways that
organizations and teams can be empowered to increase their productivityand achieve more
success. The paper recognized the implication that ineffective communicationwould have it
is not resolved ranging from seeing tenured employees seek out otheropportunities or
other positions within the organization, lack of limited commitment to projectsor
workloads, conflicts between team members, decreased productivity on projects leading
tomissed deadlines and so forth. A qualitative research approach was adopted for this study
whereexisting scholarly articles related to improving productivity through managing
communicationseffectively and efficiently were studied. The premise of this study was that
effective andefficient communication in organizations and teams is instrumental in
enhancing itsproductivity. The study results revealed that communication was critical in
influencing theproductivity of organizations and teams. The paper concludes that efficient
and effectivecommunication in an organization or team is instrumental in enhancing its
performance andproductivity. Therefore, organizations which are interested in improving
their productivity areencouraged to streamline their communication and ensure that is

cycle to success! No matter if it’s verbal or written, it plays avery important role in the
workplace or in our everyday lives. The problem with the lack ofcommunication can lead to
misunderstandings that may have the potential to create conflictamong your peers. At any
point, one person can misconstrue the words or actions of another andall of sudden –
Chaos! Ineffective communication can lead to low morale, missed deadlines,lack of
teamwork, poor performance, and eventually job abandonment within an organization.The
issue at hand is to confront the concerns that contribute to all negative aspects whendealing
with communication to improve productivity throughout. One way to address theseissues is
to make sure that Leadership is aware and involved. Leadership sets the tone for
thecompany and therefore should not be excluded. A breakdown in communication can
easily fallapart if there are no clear and concise set of rules of responsibilities. Everyone
should have anidea of how things work, who to contact if project required, etc. Especially
working on a teamproject, the team leader will need defined roles amongst all the peers to
ensure deadlines aremet, use the same set of metrics for assigning components of a project,
and implementing cleartimelines. There has been an increase in job layoffs in the past year
due to projects areconsistently not meeting deadlines because the lack of communication,

root of the issue to be resolved is to improve the continued lack of communicationwithin an
organization or within Leadership. This paper will address the concerns and issuesPage

is to make leadership aware of the problems andimplement ways that would increase

must learn to communicate effectively to be successful.Impacts if Issue is Not
ResolvedIdentifying some of the impacts you will continue see tenured employees seek out
otheropportunities or other positions within the organization. Lack of limited commitment
to projectsor workloads. Conflicts between team members may arise. Also decreased
productivity onprojects leading to missed deadlines because of the misunderstanding
around project goals andobjectives were not communicated effectively. Lack of or poor
communication createscomplexity and challenges within the environment. This also has a
tremendous impact on howwe carry out daily tasks. Projects will simply just fail. Longer
working hours and not enoughemployees to handle the workload becomes overwhelming.
Or in some cases, the project willcome to an abrupt end, due to deadlines are not being met.
According to Aleisha Krush ofObject style states that 50% of IT projects fail because they
run out of resources, funding, ortime, etc. Per PMI (Project Management Institute), a high –
performing organization is a onethat completes 80% or projects on budget, meet original
dead lines, and on time.Identifying the Consequences if the Problem is Not ResolvedWe are
all aware that communication is vital in our day-to day life and the entire worldwould not
function without it. Some of the consequences of not resolving the issue have alreadyhaving
an impact over past few years. Projects are constantly being pulled because deadlines
arenot being met. The quality of services and employee performances have decreased. The

Employeesatisfaction is at an all-time low in fear of job loss resulting in a high turn-over
rate. Moreescalations due to issues that are not being handled at lower levels. I am seeing
that schedulesare being adjusted based on new business needs for the company.Page
